Job Description Picker and Packer - Montgomery, IL 6AM - 3:30PM MONDAY-FRIDAY $17.50/hr Job Description This role involves accurately picking, cleaning, assembling, and packaging parts in a manufacturing warehouse environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You will handle parts throughout the production process, operate specialized equipment, and support real-time inventory accuracy. Responsibilities • Clean parts using the appropriate method, including bath cleaning, wiping, or scraping, to ensure components meet cleanliness standards., • Apply the correct lubricant by injection, bath, or hand application according to specifications and work instructions., • Inspect parts for defects such as cracks, poor plating, damage, or any other irregularities and report nonconforming products., • Verify that each part has the correct part number before packaging and ensure accuracy throughout the picking and packing process., • Assemble packaging materials and package parts in the appropriate containers to protect products during storage and shipment., • Prepare and attach accurate and legible labels to all packaged items to ensure proper identification and traceability., • Install press-fit or threaded fittings into the appropriate parts following established procedures and quality standards., • Assemble linkages and confirm that assemblies conform to engineering prints and specifications., • Operate departmental machines such as aqueous washers, de-magnetizers, and greasers safely and efficiently., • Move finished goods to the designated stock cage and ensure items are stored correctly., • Assist in maintaining real-time inventory by accurately handling, recording, and staging finished goods., • Perform all duties associated with the inkjet marking operation, including setting up equipment, marking parts, and verifying mark quality., • Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and organized work area. Essential Skills • Experience in production, general production, or warehouse operations., • Hands-on experience with picking and packing in a manufacturing or distribution environment., • Strong attention to detail to identify defects, verify part numbers, and ensure accurate labeling., • Ability to perform visual inspection of parts for cracks, plating issues, damage, and other irregularities., • Capability to operate basic manufacturing equipment such as washers, de-magnetizers, and greasers with proper training., • Ability to follow written instructions, prints, and standard operating procedures for assembly and packaging., • Reliability in adhering to a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with inkjet marking operations or part marking processes is an advantage., • Experience with inventory handling or stock management supports success in this role., • Comfort working with mechanical assemblies, including installing fittings and assembling linkages. The environment includes typical manufacturing conditions, such as moderate noise and frequent movement of materials, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
