Job Description Material Handler - 1st Shift - $20/hr Job Description The Material Handler provides comprehensive shipping, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and data entry services for finished goods inventory and equipment at assigned facilities. This role focuses on accurately picking, packing, sorting, arranging, counting, and storing items, and processing them for shipment in line with established procedures and customer requirements. The position ensures that customers receive the correct products within the requested timeframes while maintaining a high level of quality and compliance with documentation standards. Responsibilities • Receive materials and finished goods on a daily basis and verify that the quality, type, and quantity of materials received are correct., • Confirm that all incoming materials are accompanied by appropriate documentation, such as packing lists, and ensure records are accurate and complete., • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, and store items according to established procedures and customer requirements., • Process items for storage and shipment, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and within the required timeframes., • Prepare and package products securely, including palletizing items for truck pickups, to prevent damage during transportation., • Load and unload materials and finished goods using appropriate material handling equipment., • Safely operate distribution equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in accordance with safety guidelines and facility procedures., • Use RF scanners and DELL tablets to perform inventory and shipping transactions and update system records in real time., • Maintain accurate inventory control by tracking stock levels, performing counts, and reconciling discrepancies., • Support shipping and receiving operations by organizing materials, staging orders, and ensuring efficient workflow in the warehouse., • Follow all established quality, safety, and operational procedures to sustain a high level of service and product accuracy., • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely shipments. Essential Skills • Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse or distribution environment., • Hands-on forklift experience with the ability to safely operate material handling equipment., • Inventory control experience, including counting, tracking, and reconciling stock., • Packaging experience, including preparing products for shipment and palletizing items for truck pickups., • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and shipping transactions., • Experience with loading and unloading materials using pallet jacks and related equipment., • Comfort with operating DELL tablets or similar handheld devices for transaction processing and data entry., • Ability to follow established procedures and documentation requirements with strong attention to detail., • Capability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed to support operational demands. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment that ships products globally., • Familiarity with updating ERP or similar inventory management systems., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain orderly storage areas., • Reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and fulfilling customer requirements., • Commitment to safe work practices when operating warehouse equipment and handling materials. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
