Job Description Job Title: Welder Job Description Perform welding operations to produce high-quality components for cooling systems, working either on a team-led production line or at an individually paced work center. This role involves operating welding equipment, supporting assembly processes, and ensuring products meet strict quality and safety standards. Responsibilities • Operate production line welding stations to perform MIG and TIG welding and complete product assembly tasks., • Troubleshoot issues with welding stations and perform basic maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently., • Perform equipment and set-up changeovers as needed to support different products and production requirements., • Monitor product quality during welding and assembly, making adjustments to keep output within specifications and rejecting products that do not meet standards., • Work consistently within established standard operating procedures and Job Safety Analysis guidelines., • Complete accurate daily production logs to document output, issues, and equipment status., • Perform preventive maintenance on production line machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life., • Communicate effectively with operators on other shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and continuous production., • Clean and maintain the work area to support a safe, organized, and efficient production environment., • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use, following proper lockout/tagout procedures., • Carry out other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals. Essential Skills • Experience performing MIG and TIG welding in a production or fabrication environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for welding and assembly tasks., • Basic machine operation skills, including operating production line welding stations and related equipment., • General mathematics skills to support measurements, calculations, and quality checks., • Ability to work on an assembly line and perform general labor and production tasks as needed., • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds safely., • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift., • At least 6 months of production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with steel welding in a high-volume production setting., • fabrication work, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components., • Prior experience completing production logs and following standard operating procedures., • Comfort working with multiple machines and tools in a busy manufacturing environment., • Attention to detail and strong commitment to product quality and safety., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with coworkers across shifts. Work Environment The role is based in a busy manufacturing facility where machines, welders, and assemblers work together in the same building. The environment does not have air conditioning, so employees should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. The team currently includes around 60 employees and is continuing to grow. Standard hours are 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with mandatory overtime on Fridays. The setting is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, equipment operation, and collaboration across shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
