Job Description Job Title: Welder Job Description This role is ideal for an experienced MIG welder who enjoys working in a custom fabrication environment with stainless steel and aluminum. You will contribute to a variety of unique projects, using your welding expertise and equipment operation skills to produce high-quality, custom-built components and structures. Responsibilities • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum components for custom fabrication projects., • Work on a wide range of custom projects such as chemical storage tanks, water tanks, silos, and other specialized structures., • Operate an overhead crane to safely move and position materials and finished products as needed., • Operate a forklift to transport materials and equipment around the facility in a safe and efficient manner., • Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and welding requirements., • Accommodate various types, sizes, and thicknesses of materials while maintaining quality standards., • Lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs as part of daily tasks., • Collaborate with team members to plan, sequence, and complete welding and fabrication work., • Work both independently and as part of a cohesive team to meet project deadlines and quality expectations., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while welding and operating equipment to maintain a safe work environment. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of MIG welding experience., • Demonstrated ability to maintain at least 1 year of tenure in previous positions., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints., • Experience working with stainless steel and aluminum in a fabrication setting., • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and repeatedly., • Basic experience operating a forklift., • Basic experience operating an overhead crane. Work Environment The role is based in a custom fabrication shop that focuses on stainless steel and aluminum projects, including chemical storage tanks, water tanks, silos, and other specialized structures. Welders work both individually and as part of a close-knit team to complete projects from start to finish. The standard first-shift schedule runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, with typical overtime hours from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The environment involves regular use of MIG welding equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and fabrication machinery, with an emphasis on safety and quality workmanship. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
