Job Description Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker (Production Operator I) works as part of a collaborative team to produce high‑quality electronic equipment in a dynamic, state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing environment. In this role, you flex between different tasks and work areas, becoming proficient across assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), and material movement activities. You handle small parts, follow written work instructions, and use computers to support efficient, accurate production processes. Responsibilities • Fabricate and assemble electronic equipment according to detailed written work instructions., • Work across multiple production areas daily, flexing between tasks based on established patterns and operational needs., • Perform assembly work, often seated, using small hand tools to build finished electronic products., • Support SMT operations by pushing carts with reels of PCB components to machines, involving frequent standing, walking, and light pushing., • Handle material movement duties by going to the stockroom or warehouse, gathering parts, and delivering them to the production floor, including standing, counting, and walking., • Deliver materials to points of consumption in response to Kanban signals to maintain continuous production flow., • Accurately perform inventory transactions to ensure correct stock levels and traceability of materials., • Actively participate in Tier 1 Daily Management System (DMS) meetings, sharing updates and supporting team communication., • Contribute to continuous improvement projects by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace standards., • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support production goals and team objectives. Essential Skills • 0–1 years of related work experience in a production, manufacturing, or similar environment., • Familiarity with small parts and the ability to handle them accurately during assembly tasks., • Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English., • Competency using computers, including familiarity with Windows operating systems., • Capability to work in different functional areas such as assembly, SMT support, and material movement., • Comfort with standing, walking, sitting, light pushing, and counting as part of daily work., • Attention to detail and accuracy in following work instructions and performing inventory transactions., • Willingness to participate in daily management meetings and collaborate with team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required., • Training in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred., • Experience in general production or assembly work is beneficial., • Experience in a food industry or similar production environment is an asset., • Strong teamwork, work attitude, performance, attendance, and collaboration skills are valued. The environment is arranged like a football field, starting in one end zone with raw materials, moving through SMT and AOI machines, then into the assembly and hand‑add area, and finally ending in packaging and shipping. You will primarily work in the assembly/hand‑add area, which involves both seated and standing tasks, handling small parts, and using hand tools and computers. The facility is clean, modern, and designed to support efficient workflows and a comfortable daily work experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
