Job Description The Maintenance Technician performs skilled work across multiple maintenance and craft disciplines to keep machinery, mechanical equipment, and facility structures in safe and reliable working condition. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment and building systems to support efficient operations and minimize downtime. Responsibilities • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment to restore safe and efficient operation., • Perform routine preventive maintenance so that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the facility does not deteriorate., • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other scheduled maintenance tasks by following detailed checklists., • Use a wide range of tools, including common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, as well as precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices., • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards., • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine the appropriate corrective actions., • Record the type, details, and cost of maintenance or repair work to support accurate documentation and maintenance history tracking., • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other moving parts of machinery to reduce wear and extend equipment life., • Dismantle devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to access and remove defective parts for repair or replacement., • Collaborate with team members to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective long-term solutions., • Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards while working with electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. Essential Skills • 2–4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including work with 480V electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics., • Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical and mechanical systems effectively and safely., • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance., • Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing efficient manufacturing and distribution., • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology in an industrial environment., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues., • Effective verbal and written communication skills to document work and coordinate with team members., • Ability to work as a team player while maintaining strong attention to detail., • High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience using precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices., • Comfort working with a variety of hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches., • Ability to interpret maintenance checklists and follow structured preventive maintenance programs., • Capability to assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment., • Experience recording maintenance activities, including type of work performed and associated costs., • Ability to work at heights of up to 100 feet., • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions., • Demonstrated creativity in finding practical solutions to maintenance challenges. The position requires working at heights of up to 100 feet and performing tasks outdoors in all weather conditions. The environment is active and hands-on, with a strong focus on safety procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and adherence to maintenance standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Huber Heights, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
