Production Supervisor | Empower Manufacturing Full Time | On-site in Moraine/Dayton, OH Empower Manufacturing, a client of Brixey & Meyer, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join its growing team in Moraine/Dayton, OH. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who wants to stay close to the work, support and develop people, and take real ownership for production results. The right person will be visible on the floor, trusted by the team, comfortable jumping in to solve problems, and able to hold standards without leading through ego or intimidation. Empower Manufacturing was founded in 1978 and produces custom precision shafts to customer blueprint specifications for pumps, motors, wastewater treatment, HVAC, submarine applications, and other industrial uses. The company has two facilities, approximately 65 employees, and is continuing to grow while staying grounded in a supportive, collaborative, people-focused culture. Empower’s values are simple and meaningful: Support, Find a Way, and Pride in Product. These values guide how the team works together, solves problems, supports customers, and takes pride in the quality of the work. Why Join Empower Manufacturing? Empower is privately owned, non-corporate, and genuinely values its people. Employees describe the culture as supportive, collaborative, and flexible, with accessible leadership, monthly all-company meetings, direct feedback, recognition, and an open-door environment. At the same time, this is a production leadership role that requires ownership, presence, and accountability. Empower works hard to support employees’ lives outside of work, but successful leaders are expected to invest the time and follow-through needed to support the team and meet production commitments. What makes Empower different: • Supportive, family-oriented culture with low turnover and rehires, • Collaborative environment from the shop floor to the President/Owner, • Transparent leadership and regular all-company communication, • Flexible leadership approach without excessive corporate layers, • Strong focus on quality, customer commitments, and pride in the product, • Continued growth, including new equipment and expanded production capacity, • Opportunity to take on broader leadership responsibility as the company grows What You’ll Do As the Production Supervisor, you’ll help lead daily shop operations in a precision manufacturing environment. This is not a desk-based supervisory role. You will spend most of your time on the shop floor, working closely with employees, removing obstacles, answering questions, supporting training, and helping ensure work gets done safely, accurately, and on time. Key responsibilities include: • Lead, coach, and support production employees on the shop floor, • Help ensure daily and weekly production goals, schedules, and quality expectations are met, • Monitor workflow, job priorities, staffing needs, and production progress, • Support employees with training, troubleshooting, technical questions, and day-to-day guidance, • Reinforce safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies, • Help lead daily huddles and participate in team lead meetings, • Communicate clearly with production, scheduling, quality, leadership, and other departments, • Identify production issues, skill gaps, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities, • Support newer employees as they build confidence and skill, • Earn credibility with experienced team members by being present, practical, and dependable, • Model Empower’s values of Support, Find a Way, and Pride in Product What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who earns trust on the floor, supports and develops people, and takes personal ownership for production results. You may be a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Lead, Lead Machinist, Cell Leader, Department Lead, or experienced shop-floor leader today. What matters most is your ability to build trust, solve problems, coach others, and keep production moving. Ideal qualifications include: • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing, machining, CNC, production, or a related industrial environment, • Experience leading, coaching, or supporting hourly production employees, • Strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to manage changing priorities while keeping production moving, • Commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and customer requirements, • Comfort working in a precision manufacturing or job shop environment, • Ability to read, understand, or work around blueprints, customer specifications, or production requirements preferred, • Willingness to be visible, hands-on, and actively involved on the shop floor, • Team-first mindset with the ability to coach, encourage, redirect, and hold people accountable This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If You: • Prefer managing from an office instead of being present on the floor, • Want a highly corporate environment with multiple layers of approval, • Avoid difficult conversations or accountability, • Prefer to direct work from a distance rather than coach and support employees, • Are looking for a predictable 40-hour leadership role with limited production ownership Empower is supportive and flexible, but this position requires a leader who is dependable, present, and willing to do what it takes to support the team and meet customer commitments. Work Environment and Schedule This is an on-site role based primarily in Moraine/Dayton, OH, with occasional support at Empower’s Miamisburg facility. The shop environment is active, hands-on, and not fully temperature controlled. The schedule has some flexibility, including the potential for a four-day schedule, but this is a leadership role that requires strong ownership, presence, and the willingness to invest the time needed to keep production moving. Weekend work is not a routine expectation, but leaders are expected to be flexible when production needs require it. Compensation and Benefits • Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Company-paid life insurance, • Employee Assistance Program, • Dollar-for-dollar 401k match up to 4%, • Paid time off, • Paid holidays, • Maternity/paternity leave, • Bonus potential, • Weekly pay If you are a hands-on manufacturing leader who cares about people, takes pride in quality work, and feels personally responsible for results, we’d welcome the chance to connect.
