Job Description Industrial Electrician Company: Parker Rust-Proof Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary Parker Rust-Proof is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Electrician to support the safe and reliable operation of our manufacturing and metal-finishing equipment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, production equipment, controls, and facility electrical systems. The ideal candidate has strong industrial troubleshooting skills, understands electrical controls and PLC-based equipment, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where minimizing equipment downtime is a priority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on production and facility equipment., • Diagnose faults in 480V three-phase, 240V, 120V, and low-voltage control systems., • Troubleshoot motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, transformers, disconnects, circuit breakers, and control circuits., • Troubleshoot and replace VFDs, sensors, limit switches, proximity switches, photoeyes, solenoids, and other industrial control components., • Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment using electrical prints, I/O information, and PLC diagnostic tools., • Perform electrical installation and wiring of new or modified machinery and equipment., • Install and maintain conduit, wire, junction boxes, control panels, disconnects, and related electrical components., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, equipment manuals, and wiring diagrams., • Troubleshoot equipment failures quickly and safely to minimize production downtime., • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment., • Assist with troubleshooting pumps, conveyors, hoists, heaters, rectifiers, exhaust systems, process equipment, and other plant machinery., • Work closely with maintenance personnel, production supervisors, operators, contractors, and equipment vendors., • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements to increase reliability., • Maintain electrical panels, enclosures, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition., • Document repairs, equipment changes, and preventive maintenance activities., • Maintain an appropriate inventory of critical electrical spare parts., • Follow Parker Rust-Proof safety procedures, LOTO requirements, electrical safe-work practices, and applicable OSHA/NFPA 70E requirements., • Perform additional maintenance duties as needed to support plant operations. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required., • Industrial electrical training, apprenticeship, journeyman experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience preferred., • 3+ years of industrial electrical or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred., • Strong troubleshooting ability with industrial electrical and control systems., • Experience working with 480V three-phase electrical systems., • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment; Allen-Bradley experience is preferred., • Experience with VFDs, motors, motor controls, relays, sensors, and industrial instrumentation., • Ability to use multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, and other electrical diagnostic equipment., • Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic., • Understanding of industrial electrical codes and safe electrical work practices., • Mechanical troubleshooting experience is a plus., • Experience in metal finishing, plating, coating, chemical processing, or similar manufacturing environments is a plus. Skills and Abilities • Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Ability to systematically diagnose equipment failures rather than simply replace components., • Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on production needs., • Strong attention to safety and detail., • Dependable attendance and ability to respond to urgent equipment problems., • Good communication and teamwork skills., • Willingness to learn unfamiliar equipment and processes. Physical and Work Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods., • Ability to safely use ladders and work at elevated locations when required., • Ability to lift and carry tools, motors, electrical components, and other maintenance materials., • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include heat, humidity, noise, chemicals, and wet process areas., • Must be able to wear required PPE., • Must be able to safely work around energized electrical equipment when permitted by company procedures and applicable regulations. Work Schedule Full-time position. Regular hours will be established based on plant needs. Some overtime, weekend work, or emergency maintenance response may be required to support production.
