Job Description American Jereh is hiring an After-Sales Service Electrician (E-Frac) to support E-Frac equipment operating throughout the Permian Basin. This is a hands-on field electrical position. The electrician will troubleshoot power, drives, controls, and instrumentation during equipment outages, identify the failure, complete the repair, test the system, and return equipment to service. This position requires an electrician with both drives and controls experience. Candidates must have hands-on experience troubleshooting VFDs as well as PLC/HMI-based control systems. General electrical experience without both areas will not meet the technical requirements of the role. Key Responsibilities Field Troubleshooting & Equipment Recovery • Respond to electrical and controls failures on E-Frac and related oilfield equipment., • Troubleshoot equipment during field outages and restore systems to operation., • Diagnose failures across power distribution, drives, motors, controls, instrumentation, sensors, and protection systems., • Determine the source of electrical and control faults using schematics, one-line diagrams, PLC/HMI information, test equipment, and field inspection., • Complete electrical repairs, wiring corrections, component replacement, equipment modifications, and required testing., • Verify equipment operation before returning systems to service., • Support startup, commissioning, operational testing, corrective maintenance, rig-up, rig-down, and field preparation. Electrical Power, Drives & Controls The electrician must have hands-on troubleshooting experience with: • VFDs and motor drives, • Switchgear, • Transformers, • MCCs, • Electric motors, • Power-distribution equipment, • Control panels, • PLCs, • HMIs, • Instrumentation, • Sensors, • Electrical protection systems Additional responsibilities include: • Troubleshoot 480V and medium-voltage electrical systems., • Support 13.8kV and other MV/HV equipment within established qualification and safety requirements., • Diagnose VFD faults, motor circuits, control circuits, PLC I/O, HMI alarms, field wiring, communication issues, instrumentation failures, sensor faults, and protection trips., • Troubleshoot switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motor starters, breakers, relays, and related power-distribution equipment., • Perform continuity testing, insulation-resistance testing, grounding checks, cable troubleshooting, voltage measurements, and other required electrical tests., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, control drawings, and manufacturer procedures., • Follow LOTO, NFPA 70E, arc-flash, grounding, electrical isolation, and company safety requirements. Customer & Field Support • Serve as the electrical technical resource during equipment failures, startup, and field operations., • Communicate troubleshooting findings, equipment condition, repair status, and operating limitations to operators, technicians, field leadership, Engineering, and customers., • Coordinate with Engineering and After-Sales Service when faults require additional technical support., • Maintain clear ownership of the repair through testing and return to service. Documentation & Reliability • Complete service reports, inspection records, troubleshooting findings, and maintenance documentation., • Record failed components, repairs completed, parts used, testing performed, and final equipment status., • Identify recurring electrical or control-system failures and communicate findings to Engineering and service leadership., • Provide field feedback that supports equipment reliability and future design or service improvements. Required Qualifications • Hands-on experience as an industrial, oilfield, power-generation, I&E, controls, or field-service electrician., • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting electrical failures during active equipment outages., • Ability to diagnose the failure, complete corrective repairs, test the system, and restore equipment to operation., • Hands-on VFD/drives experience is required., • Hands-on PLC, HMI, and control-panel troubleshooting experience is required., • Experience with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, electric motors, and industrial power-distribution equipment., • Experience troubleshooting instrumentation, sensors, and electrical protection systems., • Working knowledge of 480V electrical systems., • Experience with medium-voltage electrical equipment and distribution systems., • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control circuits using meters, test equipment, schematics, PLC/HMI information, and system drawings., • Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control drawings., • Experience with grounding, electrical isolation, cable testing, and LOTO., • Ability to perform field troubleshooting independently while recognizing when Engineering or additional technical support is required., • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record., • Ability to work the required 21 days on / 14 days off rotation. Residence & Travel Requirement Employees may live in Midland, Odessa, or surrounding Permian Basin communities. The employee must maintain a reliable residence within reasonable travel distance of the Midland-Odessa operating area and be able to report to the Midland facility and customer field locations as required during the scheduled 21-day rotation. Field travel throughout the Permian Basin is required. Technical Qualification Before Solo Deployment Before unrestricted independent field deployment, the electrician must demonstrate the required level of competency in: • 13.8kV and MV/HV electrical systems, • VFD diagnostics and fault recovery, • PLC and HMI troubleshooting, • Switchgear troubleshooting, • Transformer troubleshooting, • MCC and motor-control circuits, • Electric motors and drive systems, • Power-distribution fault isolation, • Instrumentation and sensor diagnostics, • Electrical protection systems, • Cable and grounding-system testing, • Electrical schematics and one-line diagrams, • Safe equipment isolation, • Equipment testing and return-to-service procedures, • Independent field response during equipment outages Preferred Qualifications • Direct E-Frac or electric fracturing experience., • Current or previous experience with American Jereh equipment., • Experience with E-Frac units, PDUs, control boxes, field junction boxes, flowmeters, sensors, and field cabling., • Oilfield commissioning, startup, rig-up, rig-down, and corrective-maintenance experience., • Texas Electrical Apprentice, Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, or comparable industrial electrical qualification., • Experience training E-Techs, electricians, or equipment operators., • Military electrical or power-generation training may be considered, including U.S. Navy Nuclear Electrician's Mate experience, when combined with hands-on industrial drives and controls troubleshooting experience. Work Schedule & Environment • 21 days on / 14 days off, • Field-based throughout the Midland-Odessa and Permian Basin area., • Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and equipment callouts may occur during the scheduled 21-day rotation., • Work is performed around energized electrical equipment, industrial power systems, heavy machinery, active oilfield operations, noise, heat, dust, and changing weather conditions., • Required PPE and all company and customer-site safety procedures must be followed.
