Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Worker / Supply Specialist Job Description The Warehouse Worker / Supply Specialist performs a wide range of essential materials, distribution, and logistics tasks within a hospital materials management department to support clinical operations. This role focuses on accurately determining replenishment needs, locating and selecting medical supplies, documenting the receipt and issue of materials, and distributing supplies and equipment throughout the medical complex. The position requires consistent attention to detail, safe material handling practices, and effective communication to ensure that clinical teams receive the supplies they need, when they need them. Responsibilities • Determine replenishment requirements for medical supplies and materials based on inventory levels and usage patterns., • Locate, select, and pick medical supplies and equipment accurately according to orders and departmental requests., • Pack, label, and prepare materials for internal distribution, shipping, and receiving activities., • Document the receipt, issue, and distribution of supplies and equipment using established recordkeeping procedures., • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments and resolving discrepancies., • Conduct physical inventory counts and participate in cycle counts to maintain accurate warehouse inventory records., • Use RF scanners and other scanning devices to record material movements and update inventory systems., • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including lifting, moving, and stocking shipments in designated storage areas., • Perform quality control checks on supplies and equipment to ensure accuracy, condition, and compliance with standards., • Use computer systems, including email, SAP or similar logistics software, and Microsoft Office, to manage orders, inventory data, and documentation., • Collaborate with clinical and support staff to ensure timely distribution of supplies throughout the hospital., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility and departmental guidelines., • Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled to provide continuous materials management support., • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and other departments to resolve issues and coordinate logistics., • Follow established procedures and hospital policies for materials management, inventory control, and documentation. Essential Skills • High school diploma or GED equivalent., • At least one year of related work experience in materials management, warehousing, logistics, or a similar field., • Ability to stand on feet for the full duration of the shift., • Physical ability to pick orders, lift, move, and stock shipments safely., • Experience with material handling and logistics operations., • Ability to use scanners or RF scan guns to record materials and update inventory systems., • Ability to perform recordkeeping tasks, including documenting shipping, receiving, and inventory activities., • Experience with shipping and receiving processes and procedures., • Ability to conduct physical inventories and quality control checks with strong attention to detail., • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy., • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues and other departments., • Ability to work rotating weekends, rotating shifts, and some holidays as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in logistics within a healthcare or hospital environment., • Experience using RF scanners or scan guns in a warehouse or materials management setting., • Familiarity with SAP or similar logistics and inventory management software., • Experience with warehouse inventory management, packaging, and labeling., • Comfort using email and digital tools for communication and documentation., • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This role is based in a clean, climate-controlled hospital environment within a materials management or warehouse area. The atmosphere is team oriented, with close collaboration among colleagues and clinical staff to support patient care. Dress code typically includes scrubs or office casual attire paired with sneakers to allow for comfort and mobility while standing and moving throughout the shift. Work hours follow multiple shift options, including 3:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m., 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.–5:00 a.m., with Monday–Friday scheduling, rotating weekends (every other weekend), and some holidays required to ensure continuous support for hospital operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
