Field Project Manager- Northern California Syblon Reid is looking for an experienced Field Project Manager to help lead heavy civil construction projects from the field. Mechanical piping, valve, or water infrastructure experience is strongly preferred. This role is a key part of turning project plans into successful execution. The Field Project Manager works closely with company leadership, owners, clients, subcontractors, field crews, and internal project teams to keep work moving safely, profitably, and professionally. Project assignments and future locations are based on business needs, and mobility is a key part of long-term success in this role. Candidates should be open to travel, temporary relocation, or rotational schedules as needed to support active project locations. In this role, you will lead and support work such as: • Promoting and reinforcing project safety programs, processes, and safety culture, • Managing field execution in coordination with project leadership and field crews, • Leading, supporting, and holding field employees accountable for performance, communication, productivity, and safety, • Managing subcontractors, including coordination, performance, schedule alignment, and issue resolution, • Building and maintaining strong owner, client, agency, and stakeholder relationships, • Managing project budgets, cost tracking, production reporting, forecasts, change conditions, and financial performance, • Supporting project schedules, look-ahead planning, sequencing, resource planning, and schedule recovery efforts, • Reviewing and supporting RFIs, submittals, QC documentation, project records, and contract requirements, • Coordinating material procurement, equipment needs, subcontractor scopes, and project logistics, • Identifying project risks early and helping develop practical solutions, • Supporting estimating, quantity take-offs, pricing, and change order development, • Participating in pre-bid reviews, field visits, project planning, and constructability discussions, • Supporting business development efforts through client relationships, project performance, and professional representation of Syblon Reid You may be a strong fit if you have a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent construction leadership experience, along with demonstrated experience managing heavy civil construction work in the field. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, budget and schedule awareness, subcontractor management, client communication, problem-solving, and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture. Experience with federal contracting is a big plus. Experience with heavy civil construction, waterways, dams, fish passage, infrastructure, public works, or similar complex civil projects is strongly preferred. Mechanical and valve experience highly preferred. Proficiency with project management, scheduling, cost tracking, and construction software is expected. Experience with tools such as MS Project, Excel, Word, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Primavera, AutoCAD, or similar systems is preferred. This position requires someone who is comfortable working in the field, walking uneven surfaces, visiting active jobsites, traveling overnight, and supporting project needs in changing environments. A current driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. Candidates must also be authorized to work in the United States. What do we have to offer?
