This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded lawyer to take on a high quality caseload across both contentious and non contentious employment matters, working with a diverse client base and contributing to the continued growth of the team.The RoleYou will manage a varied and complex caseload, including:Contentious Employment MattersManaging Employment Tribunal litigation from instruction to conclusionDrafting pleadings, managing disclosure and preparing witness statementsAdvising on complex claims including discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair/constructive dismissal, equal pay, breach of contract and redundancy disputesConducting or supporting advocacy at preliminary hearings and settlement discussionsProviding strategic guidance on disputes, risk management and settlement strategyNon Contentious Employment WorkDrafting, negotiating and advising on employment contracts, service agreements, policies and handbooksAdvising on internal HR processes (disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability)Delivering advice and documentation for restructuring and redundancy exercisesSupporting corporate transactions with due diligence, warranties, indemnities and TUPE adviceProviding commercial, timely advice to business owners, HR professionals and senior managementConducting or assisting with complex disciplinary, grievance or whistleblowing investigationsCandidate RequirementsThis role is suited to a solicitor who:Qualifications & ExperienceIs a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5-8 years' PQEHas demonstrable experience across both contentious and non contentious employment lawCan manage a varied caseload autonomously with minimal supervisionHas strong drafting experience (contracts, policies, settlement agreements)Has managed Employment Tribunal cases from start to finishKnowledge & Technical SkillsExcellent knowledge of UK employment legislation and case lawAbility to deliver clear, concise and commercially focused adviceStrong analytical, drafting and problem solving skillsConfidence handling complex or sensitive mattersCommunication & Interpersonal SkillsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build rapport and deliver high quality client serviceSkilled at presenting technical legal points in a practical, business friendly wayPersonal QualitiesCommercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions focused approachOrganised, efficient and able to manage competing deadlinesProactive, collaborative and committed to delivering consistently high quality workCalm under pressure with strong judgement and discretionDesirableWelsh language skillsExperience supervising junior fee earnersAdvocacy experience at Employment Tribunal hearingsBusiness development or networking experienceSector specific experience (public sector, education, healthcare, tech, retail, manufacturing)What the Firm OffersCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package25 days' annual leave plus bank holidaysPrivate medical insurance (option to add family members)5% pension contributionDeath in service coverCompany sick pay (up to 4 weeks per year)Ride to Work schemeSupport to learn Welsh during working hoursGym discount schemeRecruitment referral bonusProgressive family leave policiesOpportunities for progression and long term career developmentExposure to high quality, varied employment workSupportive and collaborative team cultureHow to ApplyIf you're an experienced Employment Law Solicitor looking to take the next step in your career within a supportive and forward thinking team, we'd be pleased to hear from you.Please send your CV and a short covering letter outlining your suitability for the role to:Email: oliviareed@chadwicknott.co.ukPhone: 0117 917 1515 / 07711 799761The firm welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates and is committed to equality of opportunity.
