Company: Rustic Fence and Steel \n Location: Arlington, Texas \n Employment Type: Full-Time \n Compensation: $18 – $23 per hour, based on experience \n Schedule: Daytime, on-site \n Industry: Commercial Fencing, Steel Fabrication, and Construction \n \n The Opportunity \n Rustic Fence and Steel is seeking an experienced, dependable Bilingual English/Spanish Forklift Operator / Material Handler to support daily material movement, loading, staging, inventory organization, and yard operations at our Arlington facility. \n \n Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this position. This role works closely with English- and Spanish-speaking team members across the yard, shop, inventory, dispatch, and field operations. The successful candidate must be able to clearly understand and communicate work instructions, safety information, material details, and changing priorities in both languages. \n \n This is a hands-on position in an active construction-material yard. You will work with steel, fencing materials, lumber, fabricated products, equipment, trucks, and trailers while helping ensure crews and deliveries receive the correct materials safely and on time. \n \n The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of forklift experience, is comfortable performing physical work outdoors, communicates confidently in both English and Spanish, and takes pride in keeping a busy yard safe, organized, and productive. \n \n What You Will Do \n\n • Forklift and Equipment Operation\n, • Safely operate forklifts to move, stage, load, unload, and organize construction materials.\n, • Move steel, fencing materials, lumber, fabricated products, pallets, equipment, and related supplies.\n, • Operate skid steers or other yard equipment when trained and authorized.\n, • Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.\n, • Position materials in designated inventory, staging, fabrication, and yard areas.\n, • Assist with large, long, heavy, or unusual loads requiring additional planning or equipment.\n, • Complete daily equipment inspections and promptly report damage, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions.\n, • Material Handling and Order Staging\n, • Stage materials for deliveries, fabrication, field crews, and internal departments.\n, • Verify materials against pick tickets, work orders, and staging instructions before release.\n, • Count, identify, organize, and place materials accurately.\n, • Assist with receiving incoming shipments and checking for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.\n, • Identify and tag materials for restocking, repair, return, or scrap.\n, • Communicate material shortages, incorrect items, inventory concerns, or staging issues quickly.\n, • Work closely with Inventory, Dispatch, Shop, Yard, and Field teams to prioritize material movement.\n, • Bilingual Communication\n, • Communicate clearly and professionally in both English and Spanish throughout the workday.\n, • Translate or clarify work instructions when needed to support safe and efficient operations.\n, • Communicate safety expectations, material information, load instructions, and changing priorities in both languages.\n, • Coordinate with English- and Spanish-speaking coworkers, drivers, supervisors, and field personnel.\n, • Help prevent misunderstandings by confirming instructions, quantities, locations, and priorities.\n, • Yard Operations and Safety\n, • Maintain organized material racks, storage areas, loading zones, and travel paths.\n, • Keep forklift routes, driveways, loading areas, and work zones clear of obstructions.\n, • Assist with general yard cleanup, scrap removal, and material organization.\n, • Secure materials and loads when needed to prevent shifting, damage, or unsafe conditions.\n, • Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE.\n, • Maintain awareness of pedestrians, vehicles, equipment, overhead hazards, and changing yard conditions.\n, • Take initiative and remain productive during slower periods or between assigned moves.\n\n \n Required Qualifications \n\n • Fluent or professionally proficient in both English and Spanish.\n, • At least 2 years of professional forklift operating experience.\n, • Ability to understand, give, and confirm workplace and safety instructions in both English and Spanish.\n, • Experience loading, unloading, moving, or staging heavy materials.\n, • Ability to safely work around trucks, trailers, construction materials, and moving equipment.\n, • Strong understanding of forklift capacity, load balance, stability, and safe operating practices.\n, • Ability to accurately follow pick tickets, work orders, staging instructions, and changing daily priorities.\n, • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials weighing approximately 60–100 pounds as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.\n, • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and changing weather conditions.\n, • Reliable attendance and punctuality.\n, • Strong communication and teamwork skills.\n, • Safety-focused mindset and willingness to follow established procedures.\n, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\n\n \n Preferred Qualifications \n\n • Experience working with steel, fencing materials, lumber, fabricated products, or construction supplies.\n, • Experience in a construction yard, fabrication shop, building-material supplier, warehouse, or equipment yard.\n, • Experience operating skid steers or similar equipment.\n, • Experience loading or unloading flatbed trucks and trailers.\n, • Familiarity with inventory organization, material staging, pick tickets, or work orders.\n, • Forklift certification.\n, • Experience using chains, straps, binders, or other load-securement equipment.\n, • Basic mechanical, fabrication, welding, or equipment-maintenance experience.\n\n \n What Success Looks Like \n\n • Materials are moved, staged, and stored safely and accurately.\n, • Trucks and trailers are loaded efficiently with the correct materials.\n, • English- and Spanish-speaking employees receive clear, accurate instructions.\n, • Communication issues are addressed before they create safety or production problems.\n, • Field crews, delivery drivers, fabrication teams, and internal departments receive the materials they need without avoidable delays.\n, • Inventory and staging areas remain organized and easy to navigate.\n, • Equipment inspections are completed and safety concerns are reported immediately.\n, • Damage, shortages, incorrect materials, and discrepancies are caught early.\n, • The employee remains productive between assigned tasks and helps wherever needed.\n, • Attendance, punctuality, communication, safety, and teamwork are
