Job Description Position Overview The Operations Analyst analyzes operational performance, maintains labor and inventory models, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and drives continuous improvement across the warehouse. You'll partner closely with the Director of Operations and department leaders to keep labor, inventory, freight, and operational resources running efficiently in support of customer service and profitability. Schedule On-site, Monday–Friday, first shift typically 5:00–6:00 AM start; shifts to a 4:00 AM start during peak season (~2 months/year). What You'll Do Labor Planning & Analysis • Update and maintain labor planning models at least weekly, including, • Update labor standards and operational averages, including, • Kits per Order, • Scans per Order, • Orders by Day, • Orders by Type, • Additional productivity metrics as required, • Review actual performance versus established labor standards., • Update forecasted order volume and receiving projections., • Analyze actual versus projected labor spend., • Identify labor trends and recommend staffing adjustments., • Provide labor planning reports and recommendations to the Director of Operations., • Assist Operations Supervisors with labor planning and scheduling decisions., • Inventory Control & Capacity Planning, • Serve as the gatekeeper for all new customer, SKU, and warehouse location creation., • Maintain warehouse location accuracy and system integrity., • Review and update the building capacity model based on receiving forecasts., • Maintain the Product Flow Master Chart., • Conduct weekly physical inventory reviews to investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurring issues., • Monitor operational supply inventory., • Order supplies when inventory reaches established minimum levels., • Immediately notify the Director of Operations if supplier lead times create operational risk., • Analyze inventory utilization and storage efficiency., • Recommend slotting and layout improvements to maximize warehouse capacity. Freight Management • Complete a daily freight review by:, • Monitoring freight spend by customer, carrier, and shipment type., • Identifying opportunities to reduce transportation costs through:, • Proper box selection, • Shipment consolidation, • Packaging improvements, • Carrier selection, • Shipping best practices, • Review freight exceptions and identify root causes., • Partner with Operations and Customer Service to reduce avoidable freight costs. Continuous Improvement & Cost Control • Take a hands-on approach to observing warehouse operations., • Analyze workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput., • Develop recommendations for process improvements., • Support implementation of Lean and continuous improvement initiatives., • Lead assigned improvement projects from planning through implementation., • Complete projects within the timelines established in the approved Project Charter., • Track project milestones and communicate progress to leadership., • Measure and report project results, including labor savings, cost reductions, and service improvements. Reporting & Analytics • Develop and maintain operational dashboards and KPI reports., • Prepare weekly and monthly operational performance reports., • Analyze trends in:, • Labor efficiency, • Inventory accuracy, • Order volume, • Productivity, • Freight spend, • Operational costs, • Present findings and recommendations to the Director of Operations., • Maintain accurate operational data to support strategic decision-making. Front Line Support • Create new user log ins, • Server troubleshooting, • Printer and scanner troubleshooting What You'll Need Required • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field preferred; related experience accepted in lieu of degree., • 2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain, logistics, or operations analysis., • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, formulas, data analysis)., • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems., • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and accuracy., • Able to reliably work the schedule above. Preferred • Lean Manufacturing or Lean Warehousing experience; Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent., • Experience with labor management systems and inventory management principles., • Data visualization experience (Power BI, Tableau, or similar); SQL or database reporting experience.
