Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse WorkerJob Description This role supports a small warehouse facility that receives PVC piping from a manufacturing site and stores products for distribution. You will handle the full lifecycle of warehouse operations, including receiving weekly inbound truckloads, organizing inventory, and preparing outbound shipments. The position is hands-on and involves order pulling, pallet building, manual shrink wrapping, and basic shipping documentation, as well as operating a forklift to unload trucks once a week. Responsibilities • Pull orders accurately according to the shipping list and ensure all items match customer and shipment requirements., • Build pallets in a safe and organized manner to support efficient loading and transport., • Manually shrink wrap pallets to secure products for shipment and prevent damage during transit., • Stage completed pallets in designated areas near the dock to streamline outbound loading., • Create and apply shipping labels for outbound orders, ensuring correct information and placement., • Receive and unload inbound shipments, including weekly truckloads of PVC piping using a forklift., • Verify incoming shipments against packing lists to confirm quantities and product accuracy., • Store goods in designated areas within the warehouse, maintaining clear organization and accessibility., • Pull stock for outbound shipments based on order requirements and shipping schedules., • Complete weekly inventory counts to track stock levels and identify discrepancies., • Perform forklift safety checks and basic equipment inspections before use., • Report any safety issues, equipment concerns, or hazards to ensure a safe working environment., • Handle general labor tasks such as packing, picking, loading, unloading, and material handling as needed., • Use RF scanners and labeling tools to support accurate inventory tracking and shipment processing.Essential Skills, • Experience with general warehouse labor, including packing, picking, loading, unloading, and material handling., • Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely for unloading inbound shipments., • Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing, or willingness to learn., • Ability to create and apply labels accurately for outbound shipments., • Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments against packing lists and pulling orders., • Capability to perform manual tasks such as building pallets and shrink wrapping them securely., • Commitment to following safety procedures and reporting safety issues promptly.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Forklift experience is preferred and considered a strong asset., • Comfort working with PVC piping and other warehouse materials., • Ability to work independently in a small team environment and take ownership of daily tasks., • Basic understanding of inventory processes, including weekly counts and stock organization.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a super small warehouse facility with approximately three employees, offering a tight-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The position follows a first-shift schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. Work is primarily performed in a warehouse setting that involves handling PVC piping, operating forklifts, using RF scanners, and performing manual tasks such as building and shrink wrapping pallets. The environment is practical and hands-on, with a focus on safety, organization, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $16.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
