Job Description The Shipping Manager oversees day-to-day warehouse and shipping operations, ensuring products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. This role maintains inventory control, supports a clean and organized manufacturing environment, and leads a small team while working extensively with ERP systems and Microsoft Office to manage shipping, receiving, and invoicing activities. Responsibilities • Manage daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and overall warehouse operations to ensure efficient product flow., • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of warehouse personnel (approximately 2–3 team members)., • Oversee domestic and international shipments using parcel and freight carriers, including FedEx, FedEx Freight, UPS, DHL, LTL, and FTL platforms., • Process shipping transactions, receiving activities, and invoicing within the ERP system accurately and on schedule., • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with internal teams such as Production, Purchasing, Sales, Quality, and Accounting, as well as external carriers, to prioritize orders and resolve issues., • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, receiving, picking, packing, and material movement activities., • Review and verify shipping documentation, including packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices, for completeness and accuracy., • Ensure compliance with applicable shipping regulations, quality requirements, and internal company procedures., • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers safely and efficiently., • Use Microsoft Office and ERP systems to track inventory, prepare shipping documentation, and support logistics processes., • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment in a clean manufacturing setting., • Support order fulfillment activities, including packing and shipping, to meet customer delivery expectations., • Help maintain appropriate levels of shipping supplies and materials to avoid operational delays. Essential Skills • 10+ years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on shipping and receiving operations., • Proven experience in warehouse management and inventory management, including inventory control and cycle counting., • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving, picking, packing, and order fulfillment processes., • Strong proficiency with ERP systems and the ability to process transactions, receiving, and invoicing within these platforms., • Solid Microsoft Office skills to support documentation, reporting, and communication., • Experience working with major shipping platforms and carriers, including FedEx, FedEx Freight, UPS, DHL, LTL, and FTL shipping., • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers safely and effectively., • Knowledge of logistics and warehouse inventory practices, including material movement and stock accuracy., • Ability to use computers confidently for data entry, documentation, and system navigation., • ITAR qualification and ability to work in compliance with related requirements., • Familiarity with ESD-safe work environments and adherence to relevant handling procedures., • Strong attention to detail in reviewing shipping documentation, packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Electronic product knowledge is a plus and supports handling and shipping of sensitive components., • Bilingual communication skills are highly valued and can enhance coordination with diverse teams and carriers., • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial., • Experience using UPS WorldShip and other carrier-specific software platforms., • Experienced in international shipping and documentation requirements., • Demonstrated ability to lead and support a small warehouse team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed. The facility follows ESD-safe practices for handling sensitive materials, and the overall atmosphere supports structured processes and clear operational standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
