Job Description Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role works on a fast-paced production line in a plastic manufacturing environment, assembling materials, operating machines, and preparing finished parts for shipment. You will rotate through various stations, including component assembly, machine operation, and final inspection, ensuring each part meets quality standards before it is boxed and shipped. This position requires consistent attention to detail, the ability to perform visual inspections, and the physical capability to lift and move parts throughout your shift. Responsibilities • Work on the production line assembling materials and components according to established procedures and specifications., • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently while monitoring performance and output., • Lift parts off the production line, inspect them for defects, and place them into boxes for shipment., • Perform detailed visual inspections of parts to identify defects such as scratches, paint marks, dents, or other imperfections., • Assist in assembling components and attaching parts on the line, ensuring proper fit and quality., • Rotate between different production positions and stations based on operational needs and personal preference., • Physically lift and move plastic and foam car hoods (stacked approximately 5–6 high) and place them next to your workstation., • Follow all safety guidelines, including use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to safety controls., • Maintain consistent attendance and reliability, supporting production schedules and mandatory overtime when required., • Collaborate with other operators (OP1 and OP3) to monitor machines and maintain smooth production flow., • Support quality standards by reporting issues, preventing defective parts from being packed, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Essential Skills • At least 6 months of recent manufacturing experience, currently working in manufacturing or within the last 30 days., • Recent experience in a production worker, machine operator, assembler, or warehouse role within the last 6 months., • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift., • Capability to lift and move plastic and foam car hoods (approximately 5–6 high) and position them at the workstation., • Proven visual inspection experience, including identifying defects such as scratches, paint marks, and dents on parts., • Demonstrated job stability, with at least 8 months or longer at each of the past three jobs., • In general production, manufacturing, assembly, and general labor., • Comfort working in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment while maintaining quality and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components., • Experience operating production or manufacturing machines., • Attention to detail and strong focus on product quality., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work overtime, including some Saturdays., • Ability to work effectively with other operators and supervisors in a team-based environment. Work Environment The role is based in a plastic manufacturing facility that can be hot during the summer months, requiring comfort working in varying temperatures. You will work alongside another operator (OP1) with an OP3 overseeing machine operations, creating a team-oriented environment focused on safe and efficient production. Openings are available on 2nd shift (2:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) and 3rd shift (10:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.), and you must be able to work overtime when needed, including coming in up to 4 hours early, staying up to 4 hours after your shift, and working some Saturdays. Mandatory 12-hour shifts may be required for hourly employees based on production demands. The dress code includes work pants, a work shirt, closed-toe shoes, and safety glasses, and long fingernails are not permitted due to safety controls. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.05 - $17.05/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
