POSITION AT A GLANCE Location: Buffalo, NY Position Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Occasional Saturdays as needed Address: 2370 Walden Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14225 Pay: $65,000 to $75,000 starting base salary - Based on experience [ONLY NJ/NY] SUMMARY The primary responsibility of a salesperson is to meet established sales goals for new truck sales, through selling to existing customers and prospecting for new customers. This role is heavily focused on phone-based communication, requiring a high volume of outbound calls to generate leads, build relationships, and close sales. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and sales skills, knowledge of trucks and their features, and experience in using CRM tools. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Initiate and conduct a high volume of cold and follow up calls daily, to generate leads and build a customer base., • Assist customers in selecting a truck by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses to satisfy their transportation needs., • Capture valuable customer information and exchanges, driving sales opportunities, using the company provided CRM., • Understands the terminology of the truck business and keeps abreast of changes in product technology, incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., • Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction., • Submit all closed deals, in addition to accurate and complete paperwork (insurance information, trade title, etc.), to the finance and the insurance manager, • Ensures sold trucks are ready for customer delivery (i.e., units are clean, fueled and operational) prior to customer arrival., • Conducts truck delivery ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork., • Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies., • Introduces customers to parts and service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department., • Provide follow-up on all post-delivery and special request items, to ensure that all customer expectations are met., • Make sales calls with self-provided dependable transportation. Maintain reliable transportation to facilitate on-the-road travel to meet with prospects and clients., • Offer and coordinate test-drives to all prospective customers. Follow dealership procedure to obtain proper prospect identification, prior to test-drive., • Satisfies the transportation needs of used-truck purchasers by explaining full product performance, application and benefits to customers., • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and adheres to all federal, state, and local laws governing retail used truck sales., • Utilize and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the used truck inventory., • Provide used sales manager with opportunity to meet every customer., • Attend product and sales training courses and meetings as requested by management., • Perform per unit pre-sale and post-sale inspection., • Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce the Hunter culture of a safe work environment, • Maintain a professional business appearance at all times. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred): and one to two years of sales experience and/or training as an individual sales contributor; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual abilities are a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License required; must meet company insurability standards Commercial Driver’s License required must meet company insurability standards PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
