Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment in a data center and construction environment. The Maintenance Technician ensures reliable operation of motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and production machinery by troubleshooting issues, repairing or replacing components, and aligning equipment to precise specifications. The position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to safety and clear communication across shifts. Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and production machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operation., • Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagrams, manuals, engineering specifications, and precision measuring tools to quickly identify problems., • Identify root causes of equipment failures by observing operations, using diagnostic devices, and applying systematic problem‑solving methods., • Remove, repair, or replace defective components using hoists, cranes, and appropriate hand and power tools in a safe and controlled manner., • Measure and verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments to confirm compliance with specifications., • Adjust and align mechanical and electrical components using alignment tools and instruments to optimize equipment performance., • Collaborate with production teams to reduce downtime by communicating equipment status, repair needs, and maintenance schedules., • Document maintenance activities thoroughly, including work performed, parts used, and issues identified, to support accurate maintenance records., • Communicate equipment issues and maintenance status clearly across shifts to ensure continuity of operations and timely follow‑up., • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by following safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and applicable regulations., • Use diagnostic tools such as VOMs, oscilloscopes, IR temperature probes, multimeters, meggers, and amperage clamp meters to test and verify equipment condition., • Work with AC, DC, and servo drives and motors, PLCs, HMIs, and closed‑loop control systems to support automated equipment operation., • Utilize machinist and mechanical skills, including drilling, grinding, and working with pneumatics, hydraulics, valves, vacuum pumps, and lubrication systems., • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to plan and execute maintenance and repair tasks accurately., • Apply safe operation and maintenance practices to protect personnel, equipment, and facilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Montgomery, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
