Job Description We are looking for an accomplished Plaintiff's personal injury pre-litigation attorney to join a growing practice in Tempe, Arizona. This opportunity is suited for a lawyer with extensive plaintiff-side experience who can manage complex injury matters while also helping expand the firm's referral relationships and client pipeline. The role offers a hybrid schedule and a strong compensation package, making it an excellent fit for someone seeking both stability and long-term growth. Responsibilities: • Pre-litigation handling of plaintiff personal injury cases from intake through settlement resolution., • Evaluate liability, damages, and case strategy to position matters for favorable outcomes before suit is filed., • Draft persuasive legal correspondence, demand packages, motions, and other case-related documents as needed., • Direct discovery-related preparation and organize supporting evidence, medical records, and documentation to strengthen claims., • Negotiate settlements with insurers and opposing parties to secure fair compensation for clients., • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, key contacts, and community partners to generate new business., • Advise clients throughout the life of their matters, providing clear guidance on strategy, expectations, and next steps., • Collaborate with the broader legal team to manage an active caseload efficiently and support continued practice growth., • Active license to practice law and strong standing with the State Bar of Arizona., • At least 10 years of experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury matters, with significant pre-litigation responsibility., • Demonstrated background in civil litigation, including drafting legal motions, briefs, and related case materials., • Proven ability to negotiate settlements effectively and resolve claims strategically., • Experience managing discovery processes and reviewing evidence in support of injury claims., • Established network or track record of contributing to business development and referral generation., • Strong client communication skills and the ability to manage a substantial caseload with sound judgment.

What You Will Own • Build a national litigation platform - Lead the design and build‐out of the legal team that will support 1787 Legal Group’s expansion across multiple states and practice areas., • Lead firm‐wide legal strategy - Guide case selection, litigation strategy, and portfolio risk/return decisions across a high‐value civil litigation docket., • Recruit and develop top talent - Hire, mentor, and manage senior attorneys, associates, and litigation staff to create a cohesive, high‐performance legal team., • Drive growth and profitability - Partner with the CEO and investors to evaluate new opportunities, acquisitions, and market entries; align legal strategy with firm KPIs and financial goals., • Own complex, high‐stakes matters - Lead or oversee complex civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial., • Shape platform culture and standards - Set and enforce standards for legal quality, ethics, case management discipline, and client experience across the platform. A portable book of business is welcome but not required, the platform’s case pipeline and referral network provide a strong foundation for building your portfolio. Ideal Candidate Profile You are likely a current or former: • Managing partner, practice group leader, or senior trial lawyer at a regional or national firm, or, • Senior litigator in a boutique who is ready to build something bigger with real equity. You bring: • 15–20+ years of civil litigation experience, including significant leadership of complex matters and trial work., • Proven experience managing attorneys and litigation teams, with a track record of developing talent and improving performance., • Strong business acumen, you understand portfolio risk, case economics, and how to drive firm‐level results., • An entrepreneurial, builder mindset and comfort operating in a growing, acquisition‐driven environment., • Juris Doctor (JD) and active Arizona bar membership (or willingness and ability to obtain AZ admission promptly). Admission in additional jurisdictions is a plus. Compensation & Structure Target total compensation: 300,000 – 600,000 annually, depending on experience, performance, and package selection, structured as: • Base salary appropriate for a senior leader, • Performance‐based commissions tied to revenue and portfolio results, • Significant equity participation in the platform Different mixes of salary, commission, and equity can be tailored for the right candidate with a builder mindset.
