You’ll safely administer medications while building trusted relationships, working closely with the care team, and helping create a calm, supportive environment where residents feel cared for and at home. Job Summary Certified Medication Aide (CMA) assists in administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring correct dosages, times, and documentation, while also providing basic nursing care and monitoring resident well-being. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities Medication Administration: • Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse., • Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered., • Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response., • Maintain accurate records of medication administration., • Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse. Basic Nursing Care: • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility., • Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse., • Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting. Resident Care and Safety: • Ensure the safety and comfort of residents., • Answer residents’ call lights and respond to their needs promptly., • Maintain a clean and organized environment., • Follow established healthcare standards and practices. Communication and Documentation: • Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff., • Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly., • Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse. Other Duties: • May assist with other nursing tasks as assigned by the supervising nurse., • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education., • Maintain confidentiality of resident information., • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor. Requirements Requirements and Qualifications • Experience as a Certified Medication Aide in a Skilled Nursing, Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility., • Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in., • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment., • Experience in electronic medical records documentation., • Must be 18 years or older., • Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
