Position Summary We are seeking an accomplished, polished, and highly motivated Restaurant General Manager to lead the operations of a premier restaurant within a luxury hotel. The Restaurant General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the restaurant's operation, including guest experience, team leadership, service excellence, financial performance, and operational standards. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef, Sommelier or Beverage Director, and hotel leadership team to create an exceptional dining experience that reflects the property's luxury positioning. The ideal candidate is a visible and hands-on hospitality leader with a proven track record in luxury hotels, resorts, fine dining, or high-end restaurant environments. They possess exceptional leadership skills, strong business acumen, and a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Restaurant Operations • Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional service., • Maintain a highly visible leadership presence during all service periods., • Establish and maintain operating procedures that support efficiency, consistency, and profitability., • Manage reservations, seating flow, table turns, service pacing, and overall guest flow., • Partner with Culinary leadership to ensure seamless communication between front and back of house., • Ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for daily operations, special events, and high-volume service periods. Luxury Guest Experience • Deliver service standards consistent with a luxury hotel environment and Forbes Five-Star or AAA Five Diamond expectations, where applicable., • Create a culture of anticipatory, personalized, and genuine hospitality., • Build relationships with VIPs, repeat guests, hotel guests, and local clientele., • Personally oversee service recovery and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and urgency., • Monitor guest feedback, reviews, and satisfaction scores to identify opportunities for improvement., • Ensure the restaurant experience consistently reflects the hotel's brand and service philosophy. Team Leadership & Development • Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing front-of-house team., • Lead and mentor Assistant Managers, Supervisors, Captains, Servers, Hosts, and other restaurant professionals., • Conduct pre-shift meetings and ongoing training focused on service standards, menu knowledge, and hospitality., • Establish clear performance expectations and promote a culture of accountability., • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development., • Develop future hospitality leaders through succession planning and mentorship., • Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, respect, recognition, and professional growth. Financial Management • Manage restaurant revenue, labor costs, operating expenses, and overall profitability., • Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial goals., • Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement., • Drive revenue through increased covers, average check, beverage sales, private dining, and special events., • Manage labor through effective forecasting, scheduling, and productivity strategies., • Maintain appropriate controls over cash handling, purchasing, inventory, and operating expenses. Food & Beverage Collaboration • Partner closely with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless execution of the restaurant's culinary vision., • Collaborate with the Sommelier or Beverage Director to elevate wine, cocktail, and beverage programs., • Ensure all team members maintain strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and menu offerings., • Support wine dinners, chef's tables, tasting menus, private dining, and special culinary events., • Promote thoughtful food and beverage recommendations to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue. Sales & Business Development • Partner with Hotel Sales, Marketing, and Food & Beverage leadership to drive restaurant awareness and revenue., • Develop relationships with local businesses, luxury travel advisors, corporate clients, and community partners., • Support initiatives designed to attract both hotel guests and local clientele., • Identify opportunities to increase repeat business and strengthen the restaurant's reputation as a destination dining experience., • Assist with VIP events, private dining, and high-profile functions. Operational Excellence & Compliance • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations., • Maintain exceptional standards for restaurant cleanliness, organization, and presentation., • Ensure accurate POS, cash handling, inventory, and daily reporting procedures., • Monitor equipment and facility needs and communicate issues promptly to appropriate hotel leadership., • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and luxury service standards. Qualifications Required • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive restaurant management experience., • Previous experience as a Restaurant General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Restaurants, or equivalent leadership role., • Proven experience in a luxury hotel, resort, fine dining restaurant, upscale restaurant group, or high-end hospitality environment., • Demonstrated success managing restaurant operations, financial performance, labor, and guest satisfaction., • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams., • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred • Luxury hotel or resort experience strongly preferred., • Experience with Forbes Travel Guide or AAA Diamond service standards., • Fine dining or Michelin-recognized restaurant experience., • Strong wine and beverage knowledge; Sommelier certification or formal wine education is a plus., • Experience managing VIP clientele, private dining, and high-profile events., • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
