Senior Accountant£55,000 £65,000WokinghamFull Time, Permanent\n Are you an experienced Accountant looking for a new role within practice? We are seeking a Senior Accountant to work for a friendly, accountancy practice based in Wokingham. The ideal candidate with be qualified ACCA/ACA with extensive accounts experience gained within a UK accountancy firm. \n This is essentially a Client Manager role, and the firm may consider exceptional candidates who are seeking a role with reduced hours. Initially this role will be office based with hybrid working offered after the probation and settling in period. \n In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include death in service (4x salary), 24-hour access to a GP, x1 professional subscription paid for, access to an EV and Cycle to Work Schemes, discount platform, access to an EAP system and an Employee Referral Scheme. As Senior Accountant within this well-established practice, your responsibilities will include:\n\n • Managing a portfolio of clients comprising small business and sole traders\n, • Provide ongoing support and advice to clients and advising as appropriate\n, • Statutory accounts preparation and review\n, • Preparing personal and corporation tax returns\n, • Prepare and submit VAT returns\n, • Bookkeeping and reconciliations\n, • Ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the team\n\n To be considered for this Senior Accountant position, you will satisfy the following:\n\n • Be ACA or ACCA qualified, although, an exceptional part qualified or qualified by experience accountant may be considered\n, • Have significant accounts and tax experience within a UK accountancy firm\n, • Experience of independently managing a portfolio of clients\n, • Able to prioritise and manage workload to meet deadlines\n, • Have excellent communication skills\n, • Be flexible in your approach, self-motivated and diligent\n, • Experience of a range of accountancy packages such as Sage, Xero, IRIS, CCH, TaxCalc, FreeAgent and Excel would be beneficial\n, • Whilst this role will offer an element of hybrid working after probation, applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Wokingham\n\n Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications for this role from candidates that do not have the right to work in the UK, or require visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
