Join a community-focused supported housing provider in a rewarding Housing Officer role supporting vulnerable women in a small supported housing service in Worcester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with housing or supported housing experience who wants to make a genuine difference while helping residents maintain their tenancies and improve their stability.The service currently accommodates five residents with medium-level support needs, with the potential to increase capacity in the future. Residents may have a range of complex needs, including mental health concerns, self-harm, alcohol use, social isolation and difficulties engaging with support services. Youll be providing a combination of housing management, tenancy sustainment and practical support , working closely with residents and external agencies to ensure their housing needs are met and risks are appropriately managed.As a Housing Officer, you will be:Managing housing and tenancy-related matters across the supported housing serviceSupporting residents with tenancy sustainment, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and other welfare-related mattersCompleting housing documentation, including risk assessments, notices to quit and case recordsCarrying out property inspections, welfare checks and monitoring visitsSupporting new residents with their housing and support plansIdentifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding, mental health, self-harm and alcohol-related concernsLiaising with mental health teams, local support services and other external agenciesBuilding positive professional relationships with vulnerable residents, including those who may be reluctant to engageMaintaining accurate records of incidents, risks, support and tenancy-related activityEscalating complex or high-risk cases to management where appropriateId love to speak to anyone who has:Previous experience working within housing, supported housing or tenancy managementA strong understanding of housing management procedures and tenancy documentationExperience supporting vulnerable residents with complex or multiple needsKnowledge of safeguarding and experience responding to challenging situationsAn understanding of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and tenancy sustainmentExcellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with residentsThe confidence to liaise with external agencies and develop effective referral networksStrong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detailA calm, resilient and professional approach when dealing with challenging or demanding behaviourKey requirements for this Housing Officer role:Previous housing or supported housing experience is essentialExperience working with vulnerable adults and/or complex needsUnderstanding of safeguarding and risk managementAbility to complete accurate housing paperwork and case recordsFemale worker required due to the nature of the women-only serviceAvailable to work two days per week , ideally Wednesday and Thursday, although alternative weekdays may be consideredAble to start urgently following induction and trainingThe role is offering:2 days per weekIdeally Wednesday and Thursday , with some flexibilityApproximately 9:00am5:00pm / 5:30pm36 month temporary contractUrgent start available following induction and trainingOne-day induction plus online trainingAdditional management support available for complex or high-risk casesA rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to vulnerable residentsTravel & LocationThis role is based within a women-only supported housing service in Worcester , where youll work directly from the accommodation alongside residents and the wider management/support team.Worcester offers excellent transport links, with easy access to the M5, A44 and A38 , as well as regular local bus and rail services.
