As we continue to grow, we're excited to be opening our new Edinburgh branch and are looking for a Client & Acquisitions Executive to become one of the founding members of the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at the beginning of an exciting new chapter. You'll play a key role in shaping the success of the branch, building lasting relationships with clients and delivering the exceptional service that Atkinsons is known for. We're looking for someone who combines excellent customer service skills with genuine practical knowledge of precious metals. You don't necessarily need to have worked in the bullion industry before, but you should have experience working with or handling precious metals and be confident discussing their characteristics, purity and value. If you're someone who enjoys working with people, is commercially aware, pays close attention to detail and takes pride in handling valuable items correctly, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing No two days are the same. You'll combine exceptional customer service with operational excellence, supporting clients throughout their journey whilst ensuring every transaction is handled securely and accurately. Welcoming clients to the Edinburgh branch and delivering a first-class customer experience. Guiding customers through our buying, selling and precious-metals storage services, building trusted relationships with new and existing clients. Receiving, examining and assessing precious metals and other valuable items presented for acquisition. Identifying precious-metal types and purity using appropriate methods, including relevant hallmarks and testing procedures. Considering factors such as purity, weight, markings and current market value when assessing items. Testing and accurately recording acquisitions, escalating items where further assessment or verification is required. Completing customer due diligence, identification and compliance documentation. Preparing products for secure storage, collection and onward processing. Supporting stock control, branch administration and the day-to-day running of the office. Working collaboratively with colleagues to help establish and develop the Edinburgh branch and its processes. About you We're looking for someone who combines strong customer and communication skills with a genuine understanding of precious metals. Experience in a customer-facing role where professionalism, trust and attention to detail are important. Practical experience working with, handling or assessing precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum or palladium. A good working knowledge of precious-metal purity and fineness, including an understanding of UK gold and silver hallmarks. An understanding of how factors such as purity and weight influence the underlying value of precious metals. Practical experience or knowledge of methods used to identify and test precious metals, with the judgement to recognise when further testing or specialist assessment is required. Strong administration skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and confidently to customers. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy. A professional, organised, trustworthy and commercially aware approach. It would be great if you also have Experience within bullion, precious metals, jewellery, pawnbroking, luxury goods, numismatics or financial services. Experience buying, selling, valuing or acquiring precious metals or other high-value goods. Knowledge of bullion products, investment precious metals or collectible coins. Knowledge of AML, Customer Due Diligence or customer identification processes. Sales, acquisitions, relationship management or stock/inventory experience. Your precious-metals experience does not have to come from a bullion dealer. We would consider candidates with relevant experience from jewellery, precious-metal dealing, pawnbroking, refining, luxury goods or other environments where you have developed genuine knowledge of precious metals and their value. We're particularly interested in understanding what you have personally handled, how you identify and assess precious metals, and how confidently you can apply that knowledge when dealing with customers.
