Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Utility Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operation of assigned TDX Power utility operations across remote operating locations throughout Alaska. The position provides leadership and oversight of plant operations, electrical distribution systems, maintenance programs, personnel, contractors, projects, materials, logistics, and emergency response. The Utility Operations Manager establishes operating priorities, coordinates resources across assigned locations, ensures appropriate preventive and corrective maintenance is performed and documented, and works with site personnel and company leadership to continually improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and standardization across TDX Power operations. The scope of assigned operations may include any current or future TDX Power operating location as determined by the General Manager. Certain operating locations may have separate operations management based on organizational or business needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manage and direct the daily operations, maintenance, and operational reporting for assigned TDX Power utility operations., • Provide leadership and supervision to assigned plant operators, field personnel, technicians, and other operations staff, and coordinate shared technical resources including linemen, electricians, generator mechanics, contractors, and specialists., • Establish operating priorities and coordinate personnel, equipment, materials, contractors, and other resources across assigned locations., • Ensure utility operations comply with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, company, and operational requirements., • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure personnel are appropriately trained, qualified, and equipped to safely perform assigned duties., • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, protective, and corrective maintenance programs for generation, distribution, facilities, vehicles, and other utility assets., • Ensure maintenance, inspections, repairs, system changes, deficiencies, and corrective actions are appropriately documented and tracked to completion., • Develop and maintain location-specific and company-wide standard operating procedures, operating practices, and maintenance procedures, standardizing practices across locations where practical while recognizing location-specific requirements., • Develop annual and multi-year maintenance, inspection, reliability, and capital improvement priorities for assigned operations., • Monitor asset condition and recurring operational issues, identify root causes where practical, and develop permanent corrective actions and reliability improvements., • Coordinate planned and emergency outages, service restoration, and special operational support, including after-hours response and escalation as required., • Maintain appropriate emergency preparedness and response plans for assigned operations., • Develop appropriate critical spare-parts, materials, tools, and inventory requirements for each assigned location and coordinate procurement and logistics to maintain operational readiness., • Assist in preparation of annual operating and capital budgets and manage approved operating budgets within established authority and company requirements., • Approve procurement of parts, supplies, services, and materials within delegated authority and ensure purchases are operationally justified and appropriately documented., • Coordinate engineering, design, technical services, contractors, and consultants required for maintenance, modifications, upgrades, and capital projects., • Support project planning, scopes of work, scheduling, construction coordination, commissioning, and transition of completed projects into operations., • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, scheduling, cross-training, and succession planning for assigned operations personnel., • Identify training and qualification needs and ensure employees receive appropriate technical, safety, regulatory, and operational training., • Develop cross-training and succession capability to reduce operational dependence on individual employees and improve continuity of operations., • Evaluate operating performance, maintenance effectiveness, reliability, efficiency, fuel and resource utilization, and operating costs, and recommend improvements., • Coordinate with accounting, regulatory, administrative, and other company functions to ensure operational information and required reporting are accurate and timely., • Maintain awareness of significant utility-industry developments, technologies, operating practices, and regulatory changes that may affect TDX Power operations., • Develop productive working relationships with customers, communities, vendors, contractors, agencies, and other stakeholders associated with assigned operations., • Provide regular operational, maintenance, project, staffing, safety, and risk reporting to the General Manager, including timely escalation of significant issues., • Travel periodically to remote operating locations for inspections, employee support, project oversight, emergency response, operational reviews, and other business needs., • Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, utility management, or a related field preferred; substantial relevant utility operations experience may be considered in lieu of formal education., • Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in electric utility operations, including responsibility for personnel, maintenance, safety, reliability, budgeting, projects, and emergency response., • Broad working knowledge of electric generation and distribution utility operations, maintenance methods, practices, scheduling, logistics, budgeting, and operational controls., • Working knowledge of the administrative and regulatory aspects of utility operations, including operational reporting and compliance requirements; familiarity with ratemaking, tariffs, and utility regulatory processes preferred., • Demonstrated ability to lead employees and contractors across geographically dispersed or remote operating locations., • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, asset management, outage response, safety management, and operational risk., • Ability to develop and implement practical procedures, maintenance programs, work plans, and performance expectations., • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills., • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, deadlines, and working relationships simultaneously., • Ability and willingness to travel periodically to remote Alaska operating locations and respond to operational issues outside normal business hours when required., • Experience working in remote Alaska, isolated utility systems, diesel generation, or similar operating environments preferred., • Valid driver's license in good standing., • Ability to satisfy company background investigation, drug screening, site-access, and security requirements as applicable. PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS • Position is based in Anchorage and requires periodic travel to remote operating locations throughout Alaska., • Remote travel may involve commercial aircraft, small aircraft, vehicles, or other transportation appropriate to the operating location., • Site visits may require work outdoors in cold, wind, snow, rain, darkness, uneven terrain, industrial environments, and other adverse conditions., • Remote assignments may require overnight or extended stays away from Anchorage., • Must be able to access utility generation and distribution facilities and perform site inspections with or without reasonable accommodation. #ZR
