Job DescriptionCommercial Carpenter (Prevailing Wage Projects)Pay • Majority of projects are New York State Prevailing Wage, offering significantly higher earnings than standard construction rates., • Pay varies based on experience, project location, and applicable prevailing wage schedules., • Overtime opportunities available.Job Summary Join a stable, family-owned construction company specializing in commercial construction and renovation projects throughout New York. Work on schools, state and municipal buildings, office spaces, mixed-use developments, restaurants, and other commercial facilities. Primary duties include metal framing, drywall installation, acoustical ceilings, finish carpentry, and commercial interior finishes. Responsibilities • Install metal framing, drywall, exterior sheathing, acoustical ceilings, doors, windows, and finish carpentry components., • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications., • Perform drywall hanging, top-out, taping, and finishing., • Complete punch-list work and repairs as needed., • Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project schedules., • Follow all jobsite safety requirements and building codes., • Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to complete projects efficiently.Requirements, • 2+ years of carpentry experience, preferably in commercial construction., • Experience with metal stud framing and drywall installation., • Ability to read blueprints and use hand and power tools., • OSHA 10 certification., • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.Preferred Qualifications, • Journeyworker-level carpentry experience., • Experience on prevailing wage projects., • Experience in commercial interior finishes, doors, windows, and trim work.Why Join Us?, • Consistent pipeline of prevailing wage commercial projects., • Competitive pay with strong earning potential., • Stable company with year-round work and minimal layoffs., • Opportunities for overtime and long-term career growth., • Diverse commercial projects that help expand your skill set.Schedule & Work Environment, • Monday-Friday, starting at 7:00 AM., • Overtime frequently available; occasional Saturdays., • Work performed on active commercial construction sites, both indoors and outdoors.Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kingston, NY.
