Job DescriptionJob Title: Junior ElectricianJob Description We are seeking a Junior Electrician with at least 2 years of prior experience in commercial medical suite installations. The ideal candidate will perform neat and clean roughing in of electrical systems and have the ability to use a laser level, install deep 1900 boxes, and perform safe electrical demolition and temporary light and power setups. Responsibilities • Perform neat clean roughing in of commercial medical suites with various types of M/C cables., • Use a laser level to install deep 1900 boxes affixed to steel studs for switches, sensors, quads, or outlets., • Perform safe electrical demolition, temporary lighting, and power as directed by the foreman., • Rough in lighting (277volt) emergency circuits and regular lighting/power branch circuits., • Set up wiring from distribution panels and install in ceilings correctly, with proper slack, to junction locations., • Twist wire nuts to connect wires and ensure no cross connections., • Communicate job progress with the foreman and mark job completion on prints., • Install gem boxes in closed wall construction without damaging sheet rock., • Install additional 1900 boxes in ceilings outside rooms for power pack or sensor controls., • Trace circuits back to the panel, with or without a current tracer., • Bend ¾ EMT for stub ups in walls for low voltage openings., • Affix beam clamps to boxes and tie wires (M/C cable) without instruction., • Affix panels to various types of walls as directed by foremen., • Use 6, 8, 10, and 12 ft. A-frame ladders and have prior experience with scissor lifts., • Perform trim work, install and wire fixtures without damage, as directed by the foreman., • Possess proper hand tools, including a Milwaukee drill and impact drill, and have safety gear., • Have a vehicle for transportation to job sites in Nassau and Suffolk County., • Adhere to safety standards, including no presence of pot or alcohol smells, and maintain punctuality.Essential Skills, • Electrical wiring and cable installation experience., • Ability to read blueprints and perform MC & BX rough in., • Experience with 3-way switch installation and medical cable wiring., • Proficiency in troubleshooting, running conduit, and panel wiring., • Low voltage and schematic understanding., • OSHA 30 certification.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Must have a vehicle for job site access., • Open to working in both Nassau and Suffolk job sites.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Hyde Park, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
