Job DescriptionHorizon CableCDL Driver / Spooler Payrate and Hours • Payrate: $22-$35/hr DOE, • Hours: Mon-Fri, depending on company business needsCDL Driver / Spooler Job Summary The CDL Driver / Spooler is responsible for safely transporting cable reels, telecommunications materials, and equipment to and from job sites while supporting cable spooling operations throughout Oklahoma City and surrounding areas. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient project operations by ensuring materials are delivered, handled, and staged safely and accurately. The ideal candidate will possess a valid CDL, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced utility construction environment.CDL Driver / Spooler Key Responsibilities • Operate CDL vehicles to transport cable reels, equipment, and materials to project locations safely and efficiently., • Load, unload, secure, and transport cable reels in accordance with DOT and company safety standards., • Perform cable spooling and reel handling operations to support telecommunications construction projects., • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle documentation., • Assist field crews with material staging, cable placement, and general labor duties as needed., • Operate forklifts, trailers, and other material-handling equipment when authorized., • Inspect materials and equipment for damage and report issues promptly., • Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and inventory documentation., • Keep trucks, trailers, and work areas clean, organized, and in safe operating condition., • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures., • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and field personnel regarding schedules and project needs., • Report vehicle maintenance concerns, accidents, or safety hazards to management immediately.CDL Driver / Spooler Qualifications, • Valid Class A or Class B CDL required., • Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements., • Previous experience operating commercial vehicles, trailers, or heavy equipment preferred., • Experience in telecommunications, utility construction, cable installation, or material handling is a plus., • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials up to 75 pounds., • Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle safety practices., • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety., • Reliable work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team., • High school diploma or GED preferred., • Safety SensitiveSafety Sensitive* Key Personnel Benefits While on Key Personnel’s payroll, you can access Key’s benefits package, including health, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability, PTO, and more!
