Our service to our partners & customers is second to none. \n \n We are seeking an experienced Senior Import Operations Specialist in either Charleston, SC, or Chicago, IL \n \n Duties & Responsibilities: \n \n Operations Agent \n\n • Customer Service, field phone calls and general office support\n, • Creating/ Auditing in Cargowise\n, • ISF filing with US Customs\n, • File Opening / Data Entry in Cargowise\n, • Cargo Tracking on carrier/ port websites for Air, LCL and FCL\n, • Adhere to government regulations that monitor our business (TSA, FMC, DOT, US Customs)\n, • Fundamental understanding of international shipping processes\n, • Basic knowledge of Incoterms\n, • Understanding of different types of bills of lading\n, • Communication with customers, international agents, domestic vendors\n, • Dispatching trucks for recovery / delivery\n, • Issuing Arrival Notices\n, • Paying arrival charges\n, • Invoicing clients\n, • Daily problem resolution\n, • Ongoing Logistics and Regulatory Training\n, • Vendor rate negotiations\n, • Processing/ Auditing invoices for vendor charges\n, • Quote clients\n, • Setting up/ Coordinating Shipments with partners at origin\n, • Handling Triangle Shipment Coordination\n\n \n Operations Specialist \n\n • Look up products in the USHTS and on Cross to check HTS codes\n, • Review shipping documents to ensure all required customs data is on the paperwork\n, • Communicate with customers and agents to get documentation corrected as needed\n, • Process a Single Entry Bond when required\n, • Process multi- line commercial invoices through Deep Cognition\n, • Entry writing / prep in Cargowise\n, • Know the flags for applicable PGA’s\n, • Understand current tariffs\n, • Work with Sales and Senior Ops team members to document Client SOW’s\n, • Handle Carnet Shipments\n, • Antidumping Entries\n, • Processing Warehouse Entries\n, • Quota Entries\n, • Shipment Coordination from Origin\n, • Handle Customs/ PGA Exams\n\n \n Senior Operations Specialist \n\n • Post Summary Corrections\n, • Onboarding / Implementing new clients\n, • Work with Sales to document SOWs\n, • Creating SOP’s for clients\n, • Distribute and maintain new client broker document packages\n, • Competent in all PGA Entries- FDA, USDA, FWS,CPSC,DOT,NHSTA, ATF, APHIS,EPA, TSCA\n, • Assist Operation Specialists with questions\n, • Assist Overseas Partners with specific questions about US import processes\n\n \n Competencies \n\n • High level of customer service\n, • Self-Starter with attention to detail\n, • Analyze and manipulate large amounts of data\n, • Ability to learn, adapt, and thrive under pressure\n, • Proven organizational and time management skills\n, • Understanding of quality assurance\n\n \n Experience & Qualifications \n\n • Previous experience working with Cargowise and the interactive equipment\n, • Proficient in Microsoft Office\n, • Education\n\n -High School or equivalent (5 years' experience) \n -Associate's degree \n -Bachelor's degree \n\n • 3-7 years' experience\n, • Has attained their CCS Designation\n, • Must pass and maintain TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) for IAC eligibility.\n\n \n Physical Requirements (ADA Compliance) \n\n • Ability to remain stationary at a desk for extended periods, frequently operating a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.\n, • Ability to occasionally move about the office to access files, office machinery, or attend meetings; may need to transport parcels or packages up to 10-20 pounds occasionally.\n, • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
