Senior Accounts Manager – Accountancy Practice \n Location: Eastbourne \n Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + excellent benefits \n Hours: Full-time 38.75 hours per week \n Working Pattern: Mon-Fri 08.45am – 17.30 (hybrid options can be considered) \n Are you an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with a strong background within accountancy practice and proven experience managing and developing a team? \n Would you like to join a highly reputable, established and forward-thinking accountancy practice where you can take on a senior role, work closely with the Partner and have genuine responsibility for both a varied client portfolio and the development of the team? \n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accounts Manager to join a busy and successful Eastbourne office. You will work closely alongside the Partner, taking responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients as well as overseeing the workflow and development of the team. \n This is a key position within the practice, so you will need to be confident working autonomously and capable of overseeing the office and client portfolio in the Partner’s absence. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Work closely with and report directly to the Partner.\n, • Manage and develop a varied portfolio of clients.\n, • Review and finalise accounts, tax returns, client correspondence, letters and fees.\n, • Review correspondence from clients and HMRC, preparing appropriate responses and communicating directly with clients.\n, • Provide advice and support to clients on a range of queries including tax and accountancy software.\n, • Assist with ad hoc advisory work including financial forecasts, incorporations and management accounts.\n, • Oversee the workflow of the team, ensuring deadlines and service standards are maintained.\n, • Manage and support team members in relation to training, development, attendance and holidays.\n, • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and colleagues.\n, • Confidently use accountancy and taxation software including Xero and CCH, alongside Excel and Word.\n\n About You \n To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have: \n\n • ACA or ACCA qualification.\n, • A minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice.\n, • Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.\n, • Proven experience supervising, managing and training staff.\n, • The confidence and experience to work independently and take responsibility in the Partner’s absence.\n, • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.\n, • Strong organisational and time-management skills.\n, • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.\n, • Good IT skills and experience using accountancy software.\n, • A professional, personable and proactive approach.\n\n Why Apply? \n This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice that genuinely invests in the development of its people. \n You will be joining at a senior level with the opportunity to work closely with the Partner, manage a varied client portfolio and play an important role in the continued success and development of the Eastbourne office. \n The practice places a strong emphasis on learning and development, offering professional development, in-house training and ongoing opportunities to expand your knowledge and progress your career. \n In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, private health insurance and a 5% pension contribution. \n To be considered for this opportunity, please send your most up-to-date CV for immediate consideration.
