Chief C&I Engineer - Energy from Waste Fleet Excellent salary + car allowance + bonus + benefits National role - covering all UK sites SCINERGY Recruitment are working with a leading Energy from Waste operator to recruit a Chief C&I Engineer to support the existing site teams across its national fleet of Energy from Waste plants. Working closely with the Central Engineering Team, you will act as the fleet-wide subject matter expert for DCS, functional safety systems, PLCs and cyber security - setting standards, driving best practice and improving the safety, reliability and standardisation of C&I assets across all UK sites. The role will involve: • Providing expert C&I engineering and technical support across the EFW fleet, • Setting fleet-wide standards for planned and unplanned maintenance of C&I systems, • Acting as SME for DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instrumentation, CEMS, ATEX, functional safety and industrial control system cyber security, • Developing engineering maintenance instructions, specifications, philosophies and technical documentation, • Supporting control-system logic, configuration, graphics, I/O and interface management, • Managing national contracts covering DCS, failsafe, PLC, cyber security and other control applications, • Driving standardised C&I maintenance, reporting and work close-out through the CMMS, • Supporting outages, commissioning, MCR upgrades, system integration and plant breakdowns, • Conducting plant inspections, audits and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce HS&E risk, • Working closely with site teams, the Central Engineering Team, OEMs and contractors while supporting staff development To be considered for this role, you should have: • A BEng (Hons), equivalent engineering degree or appropriate technical qualification, • Extensive C&I engineering experience within Energy from Waste, power generation or a similar process industry, • Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC and SCADA systems, together with industrial instrumentation, • Knowledge of control valves, calibration, metrology and proof-testing requirements, • A recognised specialism in cyber security and/or functional safety, with knowledge of the IEC 61511 functional safety lifecycle, • Experience using CMMS systems to support maintenance standards and asset performance, • Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, change-management and communication skills, • A sound understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements and safe systems of work, • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and support occasional out-of-hours work What's on offer: • Excellent salary dependent on experience, • Car allowance, • Performance-related bonus, • Company pension, • Private medical cover, • An influential engineering role supporting a national EFW fleet, • Ongoing training and professional development For further information or to apply please contact Steve at SCINERGY Recruitment on 02030 386 115 or email JBRP1_UKTJ
