The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, proactive professional with previous experience in site maintenance, caretaking, facilities management or a similar role. Experience working as a Caretaker within a school or other educational setting would be highly desirable. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to maintaining a safe, secure, clean and well-functioning school environment. \n \n A sound understanding of health and safety compliance is essential, with a relevant Health and Safety qualification being highly desirable. The candidate should have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload effectively. They should be confident undertaking practical maintenance and site-related tasks, coordinating contractors and responding promptly to issues across the school site. \n \n This is a fully site-based role, and the successful candidate will be required to work on-site at Mark Hall Academy. Candidates should therefore be able to reliably and consistently travel to the school and respond effectively to the day-to-day operational requirements of the site. Given the nature of the role, applications from suitably qualified candidates who live within a reasonable travelling distance of the academy are particularly welcomed. \n \n The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety, cleanliness, security and general site presentation. Good communication skills are essential, as the role involves liaising confidently and professionally with staff, students, contractors and external agencies. \n \n A flexible, reliable and approachable attitude is key to success in this role, alongside the ability to work independently, use initiative and respond calmly and effectively under pressure.
