Manual Miller & Tooling Repair Technician \n Rotherham \n Hours: Monday to Friday, Days \n Salary: £37,000 \n The Role \n We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Miller & Tooling Repair Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business in South Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional with toolroom experience to work within a busy and supportive environment. \n The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, and preparing tooling and mould equipment to support production operations. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Operate manual milling machinery, including XYZ mills\n, • Interpret and work from engineering and technical drawings\n, • Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet specification\n, • Repair, modify, polish, and maintain mould and tooling equipment\n, • Identify and report defects or issues with tooling and equipment\n, • Locate and manage tooling held within storage areas\n, • Carry out blasting and cleaning of mould equipment\n, • Accurately follow work instructions and job card specifications\n, • Support production requirements through timely completion of tooling repairs and maintenance\n, • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role and skill level\n\n About You \n\n • Previous experience working within a toolroom environment\n, • Experience operating manual milling machines\n, • Knowledge of mould repair, bench fitting, or tooling maintenance\n, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings\n, • Experience using XYZ machinery (advantageous)\n, • Experience in gas welding, polishing, or additional machining processes would be beneficial but is not essential\n, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards\n, • Toolroom apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification preferred\n, • Has a strong commitment to health and safety\n, • Is self-motivated and able to work independently\n, • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and initiative\n, • Works accurately with a high level of attention to detail\n, • Can effectively prioritise workloads and meet deadlines\n, • Has a flexible and positive approach to work\n, • Builds strong working relationships with colleagues across the business\n, • Thrives in a team environment while taking ownership of their responsibilities\n, • Is adaptable and open to change and continuous improvement\n, • Maintains a professional and customer-focused attitude\n\n What's on Offer? \n\n • Permanent, full-time position\n, • Day shift schedule, Monday to Friday\n, • Stable and growing manufacturing environment\n, • Opportunity to develop skills and progress within the business\n
