The school is part of a federation of schools, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the federation, share best practice and contribute to the continued development of high-quality SEND provision. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SENCO or SEND leader who is passionate about inclusive education and ensuring that every child is given the support and opportunity to thrive. The Role As SENCO, you will take the lead on SEND provision across the school, working closely with senior leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external professionals. Key responsibilities will include: • Leading and developing SEND provision across the school, • Coordinating support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, • Managing EHCP applications, reviews and individual provision plans, • Supporting and advising teachers on inclusive and adaptive teaching, • Leading, supporting and developing teaching assistants, • Monitoring interventions and pupil progress to ensure provision is having a positive impact, • Working closely with parents, the Local Authority and external professionals, • Supporting behaviour management and the emotional wellbeing of pupils, • Ensuring effective provision for vulnerable pupils, • Delivering SEND training, coaching and support to staff, • Contributing to safeguarding and the wider leadership of the school, • Collaborating with colleagues across the three-school federation to develop and share best practice About You ECM Recruitment would love to hear from candidates who: • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), • Have strong experience working with pupils with SEND within a primary school setting, • Hold the relevant SENCO qualification, or meet the requirements to undertake it, • Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, • Are confident managing EHCPs and working with external agencies, • Are an excellent classroom practitioner, • Have strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, • Can coach, support and inspire teachers and teaching assistants, • Are passionate about improving outcomes for children with SEND, • Have a positive, proactive and collaborative approach Why Apply? We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing confident performers and who can help bring the excitement of live theatre onto the ice. The successful candidate will be able to teach at least two performing arts disciplines (e.g. singing, acting or dance) and deliver engaging lessons that develop performance skills, confidence and stage presence for skaters of all ages and abilities. Working closely with our coaching team, you will help create high-quality productions where our performers can SING! ACT! and SKATE LIVE!, making every rehearsal enjoyable, inclusive and inspiring. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured performing arts lessons., • Teach a minimum of two performing arts disciplines (e.g. Singing, Acting, Dance or Musical Theatre)., • Develop students' confidence, creativity, stage presence and performance skills., • Adapt lessons to suit a range of ages and abilities., • Support the creation and rehearsal of Theatre On Ice Academy productions and showcases., • Work collaboratively with skating coaches to integrate performance with skating routines., • Foster a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment., • Encourage teamwork, professionalism and a love of performing., • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback., • Prepare students for performances, competitions and Academy events., • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism and behaviour management., • Represent Theatre On Ice Academy positively at all times. Essential Requirements • Experience teaching children and/or young people and adults in a performing arts setting., • Ability to confidently teach at least two of the following:, • Singing, • Acting, • Dance, • Musical Theatre, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills., • Enthusiastic, organised and reliable., • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a creative team., • A genuine passion for inspiring young performers. Desirable Qualifications & Experience • Degree, diploma or recognised qualification in Performing Arts, Musical Theatre, Dance, Drama or Music., • OR Experience choreographing or directing performances., • Experience preparing students for productions or competitions., • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)., • DBS Update Service registration., • Level 3 First Aid qualification., • Experience working with both children and adults., • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and adapting lessons for mixed abilities., • Experience working within theatre, musical theatre, television or live performance., • Ability to contribute creative ideas for Academy productions., • A passion for theatre, performance and storytelling., • Self-employed and able to manage own tax and National Insurance responsibilities.
