Administer medications under the delegation and direction of a Registered Nurse, • Follow provider orders, medication administration records, pharmacy labels, community policies, and established procedures, • Verify resident identity and medication information before administration, • Administer permitted scheduled and as-needed medications according to established procedures, • Observe residents before, during, and after medication administration, • Document medications administered, withheld, omitted, or refused accurately and promptly, • Report medication errors, adverse reactions, refusals, omissions, or other concerns immediately to the Registered Nurse, • Seek direction from the Registered Nurse whenever a medication order, resident response, or circumstance is unclear, • Observe residents for changes in physical condition, cognition, behavior, mood, appetite, mobility, or daily functioning, • Promptly report resident changes or concerns to the Registered Nurse, • Maintain medication carts, medication records, supplies, and storage areas, • Ensure medications are stored securely and protected from unauthorized access, • Follow infection-control, medication-safety, resident-identification, and emergency procedures, • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and personal hygiene, • Assist residents with walking, mobility, positioning, and transfers according to their service plans, • Respond promptly to resident requests and emergency-call systems, • Provide companionship, reassurance, and respectful personal support, • Encourage residents to participate in meals, activities, and community programs, • Document resident care and services accurately and promptly, • Protect resident privacy, dignity, rights, and confidentiality, • Communicate respectfully with residents, families, nurses, and other team members, • Participate in required orientation, training, competency evaluations, meetings, and continuing education, • Complete additional duties permitted by the employee’s certifications, training, competency, RN delegation, and assigned role What We're Looking For • Current and valid New Jersey Certified Medication Aide certification, • Current New Jersey CNA, CHHA, or PCA certification as required to maintain CMA eligibility, • All certifications must remain active and in good standing, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety, • Ability to follow provider orders, pharmacy labels, medication records, community procedures, and RN direction, • Ability to recognize and promptly report medication concerns and changes in resident condition, • Strong observation, organization, and time-management skills, • Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with residents, families, nurses, and coworkers, • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally and in writing, as required to understand medication instructions, document administration, report resident changes, and respond during emergencies, • Ability to work independently within the assigned role while recognizing when nursing direction is required, • Compassionate, patient, and dependable approach to resident care, • Previous assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or senior-care experience is preferred, • Previous experience assisting residents with activities of daily living is preferred, • Basic computer skills and the ability to complete electronic documentation, • Dependable attendance and punctuality, • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and remain active throughout the workday, • Ability to safely lift, transfer, push, or pull up to (physical requirement) pounds with assistance or available equipment, • Ability to successfully complete required criminal background checks, fingerprinting, health screenings, and employment requirements New Jersey Certification Requirements • Must maintain a current New Jersey Certified Medication Aide certification, • Must maintain the underlying New Jersey CNA, CHHA, or PCA certification required for CMA eligibility, • Medication administration must be delegated by a Registered Nurse, • Medication duties must be performed according to RN direction, provider orders, community policy, and applicable New Jersey requirements, • May only administer medications through routes and methods permitted by New Jersey requirements and RN delegation, • May not independently assess residents, interpret provider orders, change medication orders, calculate medication dosages, or make medication decisions, • May not contact a prescriber or pharmacist to clarify or change a medication order; medication questions must be referred to the Registered Nurse, • May not administer injections except where specifically permitted by applicable New Jersey requirements and RN delegation, • Must promptly report medication errors, adverse effects, refusals, missed doses, and changes in resident condition, • Must complete all required continuing education, competency reviews, and certification renewals, • May perform personal-care duties consistent with the employee’s underlying certification, training, competency, resident service plan, and assigned role Apply Today At our community, residents come first.
