Position Summary The Quality Engineering Technician supports quality assurance activities within the business unit to ensure products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. Working cross-functionally with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, this role supports inspections, root cause investigations and corrective actions, audits, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure product quality, compliance, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities • Model safe behavior and promote a zero-defect culture of quality and continuous improvement., • Provides technical support and assistance to Quality Engineers in maintaining product and process quality., • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and quality documentation., • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including documentation, disposition tracking, and nonconformance processing., • Assist with nonconformance investigations and corrective action activities by gathering data and documenting findings., • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities using structured problem-solving methodologies., • Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities through data collection, documentation preparation, and record maintenance., • Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and inspection documentation., • Collect, analyze, and report basic quality metrics to support process improvement efforts., • Assist with internal product audits and quality system compliance activities., • Support with maintaining quality records, inspection reports, and traceability documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements., • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify and resolve product and process quality issues., • Support receiving, in-process, and final inspections to verify product compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements as required. Minimum Qualifications • Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field; or high school / GED with a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing, quality, or engineering-related experience, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, commercial and military specifications, contracts, and GD&T requirements., • Familiarity with basic analytical and problem-solving skills., • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and quality systems., • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status. Non-US Citizens may be restricted from certain programs. Preferred Qualifications • Internship, co-op, or professional experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or industrial operations., • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field., • Exposure with statistical analysis, process capability studies, or continuous improvement methodologies., • Familiarity with quality management tools such as Minitab, Power BI, ERP, or Quality Management Systems., • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (yellow belt), or Continuous Improvement training., • Exposure to participating on cross-functional teams focused on quality improvement and problem resolution.
