Job DescriptionPublic Health Program Supervisor Location: Missouri / Remote with statewide travel Schedule: Part-Time – Approximately 20 hours/week Travel: Statewide travel required Position Level: Senior / Supervisory Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree + 6 years of relevant experience; equivalent substitutions may be considered Position Overview We are seeking a Public Health Program Supervisor to provide senior-level leadership for a statewide Local Public Health Agency Service Mapping and Shared Resources Project. The Supervisor will provide overall leadership and oversight for a complex initiative involving local public health agencies across the state. This position will supervise a Public Health Program Specialist and collaborate with state and local public health leadership, healthcare organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in public health systems, program management, data-driven decision-making, stakeholder engagement, workforce and resource planning, systems mapping, and strategic planning. The Supervisor will be responsible for moving the initiative from planning through implementation and completion while ensuring project quality, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement are effectively managed. Key Responsibilities • Plan, direct, and supervise a statewide Local Public Health Agency Service Mapping Project., • Provide overall project leadership involving approximately 115 local public health agencies., • Supervise and provide direction to assigned project staff., • Establish project goals, objectives, timelines, work plans, milestones, and evaluation measures., • Apply project and program management principles to maintain project schedules, quality, and deliverables., • Lead statewide collection, validation, analysis, and maintenance of public health service and resource data., • Establish consistent data collection, validation, and reporting standards., • Coordinate directly with local public health agency administrators, leadership, and staff., • Collaborate with state public health leadership and program directors., • Develop and oversee a statewide inventory of public health services, resources, and capabilities., • Oversee systems mapping, service mapping, resource mapping, and data visualization activities., • Analyze statewide information to identify:, • Service gaps, • Unmet needs, • Duplication of services, • Workforce capacity issues, • Resource distribution challenges, • Access disparities, • Opportunities for improved coordination, • Translate analytical findings into strategic and operational recommendations., • Support strategic planning, policy development, workforce planning, resource allocation, and system improvement initiatives., • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to senior leadership and local public health stakeholders., • Oversee technical assistance and training activities for participating agencies., • Develop processes and quality-improvement initiatives to improve project effectiveness and service delivery., • Monitor project risks, issues, milestones, and deliverables., • Ensure project activities comply with applicable state and federal requirements, confidentiality standards, and organizational policies., • Maintain transparent, collaborative, and professional relationships with leadership and project stakeholders., • Perform other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsPublic Health Leadership, • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution., • Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience; allowable substitutions may be considered., • Significant experience working within public health, government health departments, healthcare, community health, or related environments., • Demonstrated experience leading or managing public health programs or complex health-related initiatives.Project & Program Management Experience managing complex projects involving: • Multiple organizations or stakeholder groups, • Project plans and timelines, • Deliverables and milestones, • Risk and issue management, • Data collection and reporting, • Quality control, • Stakeholder coordination, • Performance monitoring Formal project-management certification such as PMP is beneficial but not required. The candidate should have demonstrated experience managing staff, coordinating multiple local or regional organizations, leading data-driven public health projects, facilitating executive stakeholder discussions, analyzing service delivery and workforce capacity, and translating findings into strategic, policy, workforce, and resource-allocation recommendations. Experience with state or local health departments and statewide public health initiatives is strongly preferred. This is a senior-level leadership opportunity requiring strong public health expertise, project management, stakeholder engagement, analytical capabilities, and the ability to lead a complex statewide initiative.
