Details\n \n • Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CTVICU) of a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital\n, • Care for post-op open heart, CABG, aortic aneurysm/dissection repair, fem pop bypass, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, endovascular repair, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis patients\n, • Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio\n, • Perform bedside procedures including trach/PEG, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG tube placement\n, • Utilize specialized equipment such as CRRT, Hemosphere, Bladderscanner, Cortrak, Ultrasound, Phillips monitors, Impella, IABP, ECMO, ZOLL, Dopplers, Glidescope, Pupilometer, Blanketrol, Arctic Sun, Belmont, and BairHugger\n, • Cerner charting experience preferred\n, • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)\n, • 36 or 48 contracted hours per week\n, • Weekend shifts as needed\n, • May float within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients\n, • No on-call requirements\n Requirements\n \n, • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) or New Mexico (NM) license required; pending license accepted\n, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n, • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred\n, • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred\n, • Cerner charting system experience preferred\n, • Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, IV therapy, and blood product administration\n, • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients\n, • Experience managing patients on ECMO, IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred\n, • Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips\n, • Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, valve repair/replacement, and TAVR preferred\n Additional Information\n \n, • Facility is a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital providing short-term acute care with 554 staffed beds\n, • Must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day\n, • No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility\n, • COVID vaccine is optional, though facility reporting requires uploading vaccine series or declination\n, • Black scrub color required\n, • First-time travelers are accepted\n, • Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require approval\n, • Facility may call off shifts up to 3 times during the 13-week assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-743174.
