Job Description Kansas City Metro | DaZZee, a Strategic Operations and Automation Partner Reports To: Director of Growth Role Type: Individual contributor. This is not a people-management role. Location: Kansas City Metro (KS / MO / OK / AR territory) Focus: Managed IT & Cybersecurity + AI & Automation Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: Base salary + uncapped commission The Role You own the hunting. As a Market Development Executive at DaZZee, you identify, research, and pursue decision-makers across the Kansas City Metro to open conversations about how we help businesses run better. DaZZee is a Strategic Operations and Automation Partner. That means you are not selling one thing. You will prospect for two connected lines of business: managed IT and cybersecurity services that keep a company stable and protected, and AI and automation engagements that eliminate manual work and give owners back their capacity. Some prospects need one. Many need both. Your job is to find the pain and open the right door. Your scope is the front end, and it is clearly defined. You prospect, you set the 15-minute qualifying call, you run that call yourself, and then you set the discovery appointment and hand off to your closing partner. You do not run the discovery call. Your win is a qualified prospect who shows up committed and informed. This is not a dial-until-something-happens role. You work a structured weekly cadence built around a focused target list, with coordinated outreach across direct mail, phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person visits, so your calls land on people who already know the name. The rest of your week is spent in the market at trade groups, association events, and industry functions. This is an individual contributor role. You own a territory, not a team. Perform, and within four to six months you move into an expanded territory, which means bigger deals. What You Will Do Work a Campaign, Not a Call List • Prospect against a focused, well-defined target list rather than a dump of names to dial through, • Work in coordinated waves: marketing touches land, and you follow behind them across phone, email, and LinkedIn while your name is still familiar, • Escalate the accounts that show interest with more personal, higher-value outreach, and cycle the rest back for a later pass instead of burning them, • Research and identify decision-makers: business owners, operations leaders, city administrators, and IT decision-makers, • Keep 100+ prospects in motion at any given time across the territory Get Out From Behind the Desk • A meaningful part of each week is spent in the market, not on the phone, • Work industry trade groups, association meetings, chambers, golf tournaments, and local business organizations as a real part of the job, not an afterthought, • Make field visits to high-probability accounts in your territory, • Build the relationships and referral sources that make cold outreach unnecessary over time Prospect Across Both Lines of Business • Managed IT and cybersecurity: find companies with aging infrastructure, security and compliance exposure, an overwhelmed internal person, or an incumbent provider who has stopped showing up, • AI and automation: find companies drowning in manual, repetitive work, duplicate data entry, disconnected systems, and processes that only survive because one person holds them together, • Recognize which conversation a prospect is ready for, and know that the two often lead to each other, • Position DaZZee as an operations partner rather than a vendor, because that is the conversation that gets a meeting with an owner Run the Qualifying Call • Lead a focused 15-minute conversation about how the business actually runs: where work gets stuck, what is done by hand, what keeps them up at night, and what technology is costing them in time or risk, • Qualify honestly on fit, timing, budget, and decision authority. You are protecting your closer's calendar as much as filling it., • Walk away from bad fits early instead of dragging them through the pipeline, • Document what you learned so the discovery call starts from something, not from scratch Own the First Two Steps • Step one: set the 15-minute qualifying call with a decision-maker who understands why it is worth their time, • Step two: run that qualifying call yourself. Confirm fit, surface the problem, establish timing and authority, and earn the next meeting., • Set the discovery appointment and hand off to your closing partner with full context, so they walk into a warm room rather than a cold one, • You do not run the discovery call. Your win is a qualified, committed prospect on the calendar. Own Your Numbers • Track and report weekly against the funnel you own: outreach touches, conversations, qualifying calls set, qualifying calls held, and discovery appointments handed off, • Keep HubSpot clean and current so your pipeline is visible to you and to leadership, • Bring market feedback and competitive intelligence back to the team Who We Are Looking For Required • You are genuinely hungry. You like the chase and you do not need someone standing over you to keep moving., • A track record of hitting a number, whatever the number was in your last role, • You want a scoreboard. Being measured motivates you rather than bothering you., • Coachable. You take feedback, apply it, and do not repeat the same mistake twice., • Comfortable on the phone and in the room. You can open a cold conversation and hold it., • Real interest in AI and automation. You do not need to build it, but you should want to understand it, because half of what you are prospecting for depends on it., • Valid driver license and reliable transportation for territory work Preferred • One to two years of B2B sales, business development, or another high-activity role where results were measured, • Outside or field sales experience, • CRM discipline (HubSpot is a plus, but any system shows you track your work), • Experience selling to small and mid-sized businesses or to municipalities, • Existing relationships or familiarity in the Kansas City business community Not Required A technical background in IT, AI, or automation. We will teach you the technology and give you engineers and strategists to lean on. We cannot teach you the drive. What It Actually Takes • Hunter mentality. You build the pipeline. You do not wait for marketing to hand you leads., • Resilience. This role involves a lot of no before the yes. That either energizes you or it does not., • Discipline. Consistent activity, clean notes, relentless follow-up. The people who win here are consistent, not just enthusiastic., • Curiosity. You listen more than you pitch, and you are genuinely interested in how businesses run. You should find it interesting that a company is still moving data between two systems by hand., • Ownership. When the numbers are down, you look at your own activity first. What You Get • Base salary plus uncapped commission. The harder and smarter you hunt, the more you make., • Real coaching. You work directly with experienced coaches and the Director of Growth. You will get honest feedback and actual skill development, not a script and a dial target., • A defined path. Hit your numbers for four to six months and move into an expanded territory. Growth here means owning more of the deal and a bigger book, not managing people., • Territory ownership. The Kansas City market is yours to build. The relationships you create are yours., • Marketing behind you. You are not starting every conversation from zero. Targeted outreach lands in front of your accounts before you pick up the phone., • Two lines of business to sell. Managed IT and AI automation. Two ways into every account and two reasons for a prospect to take the meeting., • A week with a rhythm. Campaign-driven prospecting backed by marketing, plus real time in the market at events and industry groups. This is not eight hours a day behind a screen., • Benefits. Health, dental, vision, and 401(k), plus the tools and technology to do the job well. About DaZZee DaZZee is a Strategic Operations and Automation Partner for small and mid-sized businesses and municipal clients across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. We do two things, and they reinforce each other. We manage and secure our clients technology so the foundation is stable, and we build AI and automation into how they operate so the business runs with less manual effort and fewer people stuck doing work a system should handle. Most providers do one or the other. Sitting on both sides is what lets us have a real operations conversation with an owner instead of a price conversation with a purchaser. That also means you have more than one way to open a door and more than one reason for a prospect to say yes. We are growing, and this role sits at the front of that growth. If you want to prove what you can do, build a book of business, and grow into a real sales career rather than a job, we should talk. DaZZee IT is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
