Job Description Job Title: Sanitation Worker Job Description The Sanitation Worker plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized hospital kitchen and cafeteria environment. This position focuses on cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and cookware, as well as ensuring floors and work areas are consistently sanitized and ready for daily food service operations. Responsibilities • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cookware using dishwashing equipment and racks., • Handle heavy dish racks and cookware, regularly lifting and moving items that may weigh over 50 pounds., • Perform deep cleaning tasks in the kitchen and cafeteria areas to maintain a high standard of sanitation., • Sweep and mop floors to keep all kitchen and service areas clean, dry, and safe for staff and visitors., • Carry out custodial and janitorial duties as needed, including trash removal and cleaning of work surfaces., • Support general housekeeping tasks in the kitchen and cafeteria to ensure an orderly and hygienic environment., • Assist with basic kitchen prep and cleaning of prep areas to support food service operations., • Follow established sanitation procedures and safety guidelines to comply with hospital standards., • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth daily operations., • Report any maintenance or safety issues in the kitchen or dishwashing areas to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills • Minimum of 2 years of experience in dishwashing, sanitation, or heavy janitorial work., • Proven ability to perform labor-intensive tasks and consistently handle heavy items over 50 pounds., • Experience with cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment., • Strong familiarity with mopping, sweeping, and general floor care in a high-traffic environment., • Experience in custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping work, preferably in a kitchen or food service setting., • Understanding of basic sanitation practices and the importance of maintaining a hygienic environment., • Ability to follow cleaning schedules, procedures, and safety protocols accurately., • Reliability and strong work ethic, with the ability to work the full shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a hospital kitchen or cafeteria setting is beneficial., • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent cleaning demands., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team., • Attention to detail when performing deep cleaning and sanitation tasks., • Willingness to learn and follow hospital-specific sanitation standards and procedures. Appropriate work attire should be practical and suitable for a kitchen and custodial environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
