Job Description Job Title: Industrial Painter Job Description The Painter oversees the preparation, painting, foaming, and finishing of HVAC systems and components, ensuring high-quality, durable results in an industrial environment. This role designs and implements painting systems and procedures for HVAC projects, selects appropriate coatings for various materials and conditions, and performs complex painting tasks while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. The 1st shift is Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm. Responsibilities • Design and develop painting systems and procedures for HVAC projects, selecting appropriate coatings for different materials and environments., • Oversee the preparation, painting, foaming, and finishing of HVAC systems and components to ensure high-quality workmanship., • Inspect HVAC components and systems to determine the best approach for painting, including surface preparation, coating selection, and application techniques., • Perform complex painting tasks, including intricate detailing, high-durability coatings, and protective finishes., • Manage and coordinate painting schedules to ensure timely completion of projects and effective use of resources., • Coach and mentor Painter 1s and Painter 2s, providing guidance, training, and support to develop their skills., • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure finished surfaces meet aesthetic, functional, and durability requirements., • Ensure all painting work complies with company quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols., • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on painting equipment to keep it in proper working condition., • Stay current with new painting technologies, materials, and industry best practices, and implement improvements as needed., • Follow instructions and work under the supervision of more experienced painters when required., • Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and provide continuous improvement suggestions to enhance efficiency., • Consistently wear and properly use required personal protective equipment, including respirators, and maintain all equipment used in the paint shop., • Perform paint preparation activities such as masking, surface cleaning, and setup of spray guns in an industrial automotive, truck, or boat spray setting. Essential Skills • Minimum of 1 year of painting experience; candidates with 6 months to 20+ years of experience are considered, with hiring decisions based on paint capability., • Hands-on experience in industrial painting environments such as automotive, truck, boat, or similar spray settings., • Ability to set up spray guns, mix paint correctly, and clean paint systems to ensure sprayer reliability., • Experience working in a paint shop environment, painting continuously while wearing a respirator and maintaining equipment., • Proficiency with industrial paint application, paint preparation, masking, and spray gun operation., • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and surface preparation methods., • High attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality, durable finishes., • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications related to painting processes and requirements., • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for painting processes and equipment., • Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental controls, and PPE requirements in industrial painting settings., • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required during the shift., • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds., • Ability to climb portable ladders safely., • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination for precise painting work. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in body shop, auto body, or industrial painting environments., • Background in truck painting or boat painting using spray systems., • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices., • Comfort working with HVAC components and systems in a manufacturing setting., • Interest in staying current with new painting technologies, materials, and industry best practices., • Ability to mentor and coach less experienced painters when needed. Work Environment This role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility featuring industry 4.0 technology and air-conditioned work areas with clean, organized paint shop conditions. The environment involves day-in, day-out painting using industrial paint systems, spray guns, and related equipment, with continuous use of personal protective equipment such as respirators. The position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed, and safely climb portable ladders. Strong manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are essential for precise application work. The 1st shift is Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
