Job Description Water Restoration Technician — Job Description Position Summary The Water Restoration Technician is responsible for responding to residential and commercial water damage emergencies and performing restoration services safely, efficiently, and professionally. This position involves water extraction, structural drying, demolition, cleaning, monitoring, documentation, and assisting with the restoration process from initial response through completion. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, comfortable working in challenging environments, and able to communicate professionally with customers, insurance representatives, and team members. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Respond promptly to water damage emergencies and assigned service calls., • Inspect affected areas and identify the source and extent of water damage., • Perform water extraction using truck-mounted and portable extraction equipment., • Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other drying equipment., • Perform moisture inspections and document moisture readings throughout the drying process., • Remove damaged flooring, drywall, insulation, cabinetry, and other materials when necessary., • Perform controlled demolition according to company procedures and industry standards., • Clean and sanitize affected areas and contents as required., • Maintain job sites in a clean, organized, and safe condition., • Complete daily job documentation, photographs, moisture maps, equipment logs, and other required paperwork., • Communicate professionally with customers regarding the restoration process and expectations., • Protect unaffected areas of the property from damage and contamination., • Load, unload, clean, maintain, and properly store restoration equipment., • Follow company safety policies, and applicable industry standards., • Assist with mold, fire, storm, and contents restoration projects as needed., • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and inventory., • Work effectively as part of a restoration team and assist other technicians when needed., • Participate in after-hours, weekend, and emergency response rotations as required. Qualifications • Previous restoration, construction, remodeling, or related experience preferred but not required., • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record., • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds., • Ability to work in crawlspaces, attics, basements, confined spaces, and other challenging environments., • Ability to work in wet, dirty, dusty, and potentially hazardous conditions., • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency calls., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions., • Professional appearance and customer-service skills., • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance., • Ability to pass required background and employment screening. Preferred Qualifications • IICRC WRT certification., • Experience with Xactimate or other restoration estimating software., • Previous experience with water mitigation and structural drying., • Construction or remodeling experience. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Technicians may work for extended periods in hot, cold, wet, dusty, or confined environments.
