ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORTED This role provides complete information technology support for a group of affiliated companies operating under one ownership umbrella. As the sole IT professional, you will serve every entity below as a single, unified IT function: • North Texas Natural Select Materials — materials supply and production, • Bedrock Landscaping — commercial and residential landscaping, • Select Excavation — site preparation and excavation, • RPM Utilities — underground and utility infrastructure, • Luxe Contractors — general contracting and construction POSITION SUMMARY The IT Manager is a hands-on, one-person department responsible for overseeing and executing all information technology functions across the group of companies. This person is both the strategist and the technician — planning and budgeting for technology while also physically setting up computers, troubleshooting phones, and resolving day-to-day help-desk issues. The ideal candidate is a self-directed generalist who is comfortable owning everything from network security and vendor management to unboxing a new laptop and walking an employee through a password reset. Because this is a standalone role, the IT Manager must be resourceful, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing competing needs across multiple businesses and job sites. Success in this position means keeping every company's technology running reliably, securely, and cost-effectively with minimal downtime. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Help Desk & End-User Support • Serve as the single point of contact for all technology issues across the companies, providing prompt, friendly support to employees in the office and in the field., • Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones for new and existing employees., • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and connectivity problems, escalating to vendors when necessary., • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding — provisioning accounts, equipment, and access, and securely recovering assets on separation. Systems, Network & Infrastructure • Administer and maintain networks, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, firewalls, and internet connectivity across all office and yard locations., • Manage servers, cloud services, file storage, backups, and disaster-recovery processes to protect company data., • Administer email, user accounts, and productivity platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace)., • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues before they cause downtime. Phones & Communications • Manage the company phone systems (mobile devices, VoIP / desk phones, and voicemail) including provisioning, plans, and troubleshooting., • Coordinate with telecom and cellular carriers on service, billing, upgrades, and new lines. Security & Data Protection • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures — antivirus/endpoint protection, password policies, multi-factor authentication, and staff security awareness., • Ensure regular, tested data backups and maintain a documented recovery plan., • Manage user permissions and access controls to safeguard sensitive company information. Vendors, Purchasing & Administration • Research, recommend, and purchase hardware, software, licenses, and IT services within approved budgets., • Manage relationships with technology vendors, internet/telecom providers, and outside IT contractors when specialized help is needed., • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, licenses, and warranties across the companies., • Track IT spending, identify cost savings, and assist leadership with technology budgeting and planning., • Create and maintain simple documentation, procedures, and basic training for staff. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience., • 5+ years of progressive IT experience covering help desk, hardware, networking, and systems administration., • Strong working knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace, networking fundamentals, and common business software., • Hands-on experience setting up and troubleshooting computers, laptops, mobile phones, printers, and phone systems., • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, backups, and data protection., • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Strong communication skills and patience when supporting non-technical employees., • Highly organized, with the ability to manage and prioritize IT needs across multiple companies simultaneously., • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between company locations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft/Cisco credentials., • Prior experience supporting construction, materials, landscaping, excavation, or field-based businesses., • Experience administering VoIP phone systems and mobile device management (MDM)., • Familiarity with industry or job-costing software used in construction and materials operations. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to other company locations and job sites., • Must be able to lift and move IT equipment (up to ~50 lbs), and occasionally crawl, bend, or reach to run cabling and set up workstations., • May require occasional after-hours availability to resolve urgent issues or perform maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
