Job Description As a Baker for Artisan Bakers, the candidate responsible managing multiple convection ovens in a commercial environment. This individual must be passionate, committed, and dedicated to the quality of our product and the enrichment of our people. This position requires above average attention to detail, people skills, and the ability to quickly process information and act accordingly. This candidate will work closely with the production supervisors and report directly to the Baking Manager. Job Responsibilities/Main Functions/Main Tasks: • Proof and bake product to established specifications., • Perform other duties assigned by direct supervisor, or baking manager., • Support the baking team by providing operational assistance where necessary., • Support management to meet short- and long-term objectives., • Achieve and maintain food safety standards enforced by the BRC audit., • Communicate with staff, supervisors, and management about changes in process, procedure, or product., • Adhere to all GMP’s, safety policies and procedures set forth by Artisan Bakers, • Maintain clean work area. Core Competencies: • Attention to Detail – ensures all processes and procedures are completed accurately to business specifications., • Time Management – Ability to prioritize tasks; ensuring that you have adequate time to complete and confirm your task is finished and to the desired quality standard., • Problem Solving – Using creative, logical, and critical thinking to find solutions to meet the desired quality standard. Understanding temperature control is essential in this role., • Communication – Written and verbal communication skills are crucial in this role. Being able to explain recipes and procedures as well as actively listening is imperative., • Multitasking – Ability to pivot from task to task while prioritizing business needs without compromising company standards. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · High school diploma or GED equivalent required. An AA Degree or equivalent in a baking capacity is preferred. · Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred. · Must possess general baking knowledge, with a minimum of 2 years of previous large-scale baking experience. · Must possess the ability to meet deadlines. · Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. · Must have knowledge of natural levain process. · Must possess the ability to problem solve and make high cognitive decisions. · Must possess the ability to make decisions in a timely and effective manner. · Must possess the ability to work under pressure. · Must possess a positive attitude, are honest, neat, and clean in appearance, punctual, take pride in their work, and are collaborators. · Must be willing to learn. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions · Must be able to withstand lifting, standing, squatting, twisting, turning, and walking throughout the day. · Must be able to raise both arms above your shoulder. · Must be able to consistently lift 50lbs. · Major fluctuation in temperature · Warehouse/ production plant · Noise levels vary from location/ department. · Non-slip shoes are required.
