We are initially prioritizing candidates based in Southern California who can work a hybrid schedule (coming into the Monrovia office 2–4 times a month, with potentially once-a-week onboarding/training). However, we are also fully open to out-of-state candidates who have proven experience working successfully in a 100% remote capacity! \n \n Position Overview \n Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, you will serve as the primary visual storyteller for the Foundation, developing brand-aligned creative across both print and digital channels. You will partner across all departments to develop creative assets for fundraising campaigns, donor communications, signature events (like our head-shaving events!), partnerships, and digital marketing. \n \n Working closely with our Sr. Social Media Specialist, you will also create platform-native graphics and short-form, social-first content using existing footage, photos, trending formats, and other creative assets. \n \n Essential Duties & Responsibilities \n 🏁 Creative & Brand Leadership \n\n • Serve as the steward of the Foundation’s visual identity, developing creative direction and translating complex scientific, fundraising, and impact stories into clear, compelling visuals.\n, • Act as the lead designer across departments, managing and prioritizing multiple creative requests while providing guidance to internal stakeholders.\n\n 📢 Campaign, Fundraising & Organizational Design \n\n • Design materials for major campaigns, head-shaving events, peer-to-peer fundraising programs, seasonal giving, donor communications, and advocacy initiatives.\n, • Create print and digital collateral including reports, brochures, signage, banners, merchandise, t-shirts, partnership materials, presentations, email, and digital advertising assets.\n, • Oversee print production, including preparing print-ready files and coordinating with external vendors.\n, • Create branded PowerPoint presentations and user-friendly Canva templates that enable staff to produce consistent, on-brand materials.\n\n 📱 Digital & Social Content \n\n • Design social graphics, infographics, motion assets, and quick-turn, short-form video content.\n, • Use existing footage, photography, text, audio, templates, and trending formats to create social-first content using tools like CapCut, Canva, and in-app editors.\n, • Stay current on social trends and identify relevant opportunities for the Foundation to participate and drive engagement.\n\n 📂 Asset & Resource Management \n\n • Organize and maintain photography, video, design files, templates, and other digital assets.\n, • Manage and update shared creative resources used by staff and volunteers.\n\n \n Minimum Position Requirements \n\n • Experience: 3+ years of professional graphic design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling across print and digital channels.\n, • Adobe Creative Cloud: Expert proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.\n, • Figma & Canva: Strong experience with Figma and expertise creating and managing Canva brand kits and scalable templates.\n, • Social-First Content: Experience creating engaging short-form, mobile-first content (Reels, TikToks) using accessible tools like CapCut, Canva, and in-app editors.
