Job DescriptionJob Title: Material Handler / Parts SpecialistJob Description This role focuses on shipping and receiving parts, materials, cores, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records in the computer system. You verify that all incoming and outgoing items meet regulatory and company standards for quality, documentation, and traceability, including part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life. You perform shelf life audits and cycle counts, support inventory control activities, and help ensure that parts and materials are properly handled, stored, and recorded at a busy airport facility. Responsibilities • Receive parts, materials, cores, and equipment and verify that packages show no visible damage before acceptance., • Confirm that all received items comply with federal regulations and company policies regarding quality, documentation, and traceability., • Verify and record key data for each item, including part number, serial number, and shelf life, in the computer system., • Perform shelf life audits to ensure that all materials remain within their usable date range and are properly labeled and tracked., • Conduct regular cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records and maintain accurate stock levels., • Replenish inventory in the computer system and update records promptly to reflect receipts, issues, and adjustments., • Handle and stock parts and materials in the warehouse or hangar, ensuring items are organized, properly stored, and easy to locate., • Use SAP and other computer systems to perform inventory control tasks, data entry, and tracking of parts and materials., • Support shipping activities by preparing parts and materials for shipment according to company procedures and regulatory requirements., • Communicate with internal customers to provide responsive and courteous service when locating, issuing, or receiving parts., • Follow all applicable safety procedures and guidelines when working in the hangar environment and when handling materials., • For Level III roles, operate forklifts safely to move and position parts and materials and support warehouse operations., • For Level III roles, apply aerospace knowledge and understanding of specific SAP software to manage aerospace-related inventory., • For Level III roles, follow hazmat handling procedures in accordance with training and regulatory requirements.Essential Skills, • 1–2 years of experience working with aircraft parts or auto parts., • Proficient computer skills, including accurate and efficient data entry., • Strong customer service skills to support internal and external stakeholders., • Great attention to detail when verifying documentation, part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life information., • Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent., • Willingness and ability to obtain DOT and IATA certifications., • Experience handling parts, materials, and warehouse inventory., • Ability to perform cycle counts and support inventory control activities., • Basic familiarity with SAP or similar inventory management systems., • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Aerospace background for Level III positions., • Forklift experience for Level III positions., • Understanding of specific SAP software used in aerospace or parts management environments for Level III positions., • Hazmat training for Level III positions., • Experience working with warehouse inventory systems and Microsoft software., • Comfort working in an airport or hangar setting.Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based at Dulles Airport in an indoor hangar environment. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. You use computers, SAP software, and other inventory systems daily, and for Level III roles you may operate forklifts and handle hazmat materials in compliance with training and regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dulles, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
