We are seeking a Dispatcher to join our growing operations team. This role will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day moving operations, assigning crews and trucks, monitoring routes, and ensuring efficient, safe, and on-time performance. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a calm approach under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and dispatch moving teams (drivers, foremen, helpers) for daily and overnight jobs., • Analyze scheduled moves and assign the appropriate crews, trucks, and equipment based on qualifications and workload., • Monitor active jobs for efficiency, safety, and timely completion., • Prepare and review all necessary job documentation (Bill of Lading, contracts, etc.) before dispatch., • Maintain accurate records of workforce availability, vehicle usage, and daily activity., • Communicate with moving teams throughout the shift to resolve issues, delays, or emergencies., • Report and document all incidents, vehicle issues, or safety-related matters in accordance with company policy., • Work closely with the Operations, Safety, and Fleet teams to ensure optimal workforce utilization and truck rotation., • Assist with booking hotels, roadside assistance, and other travel logistics as needed., • Provide daily and weekly reports on manpower, fleet status, and dispatch performance., • Uphold Roadway's customer service standards—always courteous, solution-oriented, and professional., • Any other related duties as assigned. Requirements: • Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience, highly preferrable experience with household goods or transportation/moving industry., • Knowledge of DOT state and federal regulations for commercial vehicles., • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch management systems., • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; able to multitask and prioritize under pressure., • Ability to understand operational data and make informed scheduling decisions., • Dependable, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively., • Flexibility with schedule and willingness to adapt to business needs., • Ability to work in office 6 days/week during the summer. After the busy season, weekend day will be rotational. The program is focused on leadership, STEM, Social-Emotional Learning, community service, and academics. Students engage in weekly hikes, gardening initiatives, STEM activities, job shadowing, and college readiness programs. POSITION OVERVIEW: Group Leaders are responsible for academic tutoring and assisting lead instructors in preparing students to demonstrate newly acquired skills in STEM, leadership, sports and the arts.
