Location: Rochdale Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week We are looking for an experienced EC&I Design Engineer to join our engineering team on a permanent basis in Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer with a strong design background to work on a variety of projects within the gas and engineering sectors, with exposure to both office-based design and site activities. Reporting to the Lead EC&I Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical and instrumentation designs from concept through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities Produce and develop EC&I design drawings, including: • Single line diagrams - Loop drawings - Block cable diagrams - Electrical and instrumentation layouts - Hook-ups - General arrangements (GAs), • Carry out electrical and instrumentation design calculations, including Amtech cable sizing, DIALux lighting calculations and instrumentation calculations., • Compile electrical and instrumentation design dossiers., • Undertake site surveys, technical research and reporting., • Support HAZOPs, safety reviews and risk assessments., • Provide technical guidance and support to design teams., • Work closely with clients, project teams and other stakeholders to deliver effective engineering solutions., • Support commissioning activities and FAT testing where required., • Contribute to continuous improvement, quality and design standards. You will ideally have: • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline., • IET BS7671 18th Edition certification., • A minimum of 3 years' EC&I design experience., • Strong knowledge of CAD and engineering design software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, EPLAN, Amtech ProDesign and DIALux., • Experience with LV/ELV distribution, control systems, instrumentation, sensors and transmitters., • A good understanding of ISO 9001, quality requirements and relevant health and safety legislation/directives., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities., • Professional Registration (IEng/CEng) is desirable, or you should be working towards professional registration. Desirable Experience The following would be advantageous: • COMPEX12, • Hazardous area design experience., • Gas industry experience., • Commissioning experience., • Experience working on site and supporting projects through to completion.
