EDF is leading the UK’s Nuclear New Build Programme, building nuclear power stations at Hinkley Point C in Somerset and Sizewell C in Suffolk. As Cost Engineer, you’ll join the Integrated Project Controls (Cost and Forecasting) team with EDF’s direct partner company – the single source of truth for delivery performance on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects. \n \n What you’ll be doing \n\n • Support the roll-out of Cost and Forecasting processes and frameworks consistently across the HPC project\n, • Provide accurate, timely cost reporting in line with project governance\n, • Work as part of a matrix team aligned to one of the project’s key programme areas (Central, Site, Engineering, MEH, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island, Instrumentation & Controls, or Commissioning)\n, • Contribute to integrated baseline delivery, EPC critical path execution, and milestone tracking toward Commercial Operation Date\n, • Collaborate closely with the wider Project Controls community, including Estimating, Planning, Risk, and Performance Measurement disciplines\n, • Build strong working relationships with Project Managers and central functions such as Supply Chain, Finance, and HR\n\n \n What you’ll bring \n\n • Solid grounding in cost engineering or cost control on major capital projects\n, • Comfortable working with reporting frameworks and governance processes in a structured, regulated environment\n, • Strong analytical skills, with the confidence to interpret and communicate cost and performance data clearly\n, • A collaborative mindset – this is a matrix organisation, so you’ll be working across multiple teams and disciplines\n, • An understanding of, or interest in, working within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment\n\n \n Location \n Based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset – one of the most significant construction projects in Europe, with strong transport links from Bristol, Bath, Taunton, and the wider South West. \n This is your chance to help deliver a project that will power millions of UK homes for decades to come, at the heart of the UK’s nuclear renaissance. \n \n Click apply to send over your CV – even if it’s not fully up to date, send what you have and we’ll talk through your experience directly.
